Yeah that one, glad I didn't have to post a picture.

My next fun car will either be wankel powered, mid-engined, or Euro.

WHY won't Mazda let me spec out a 2016 MX-5 on their website?! I can still build a 2015, but I'm not even sure Mazda's accepting new orders for 2015 models anymore...

I don't think 2015s are still available for order.

Because many of the cars that are posted are pre-prod cars and are not at the stock ride height. Not sure how I feel about the back either, but the car from the front and side looks good.

I just love that Mazda focused on losing weight, making the car smaller on the exterior, but not sacrificing interior space vs previous gens.

Yeah the intention behind its specs is great like shedding 150 lbs, etc. but the marketing pictures are a bit misleading. At the same time it does show the potential of the 2016 mx-5 when lowered and done up. I don't want to abandon the car completely but I was a bit disappointed after seeing that video of all the cars in the lot lol

For example, the pictures below, the car looks too damn good

^^The two shots above are both Miata Club editions that include larger BBS wheels, lowered suspensions with Bilstein shocks, Brembo BBKs and lip kits taken at the most flattering angles possible. In person stock Miatas are nasty. I've seen 3 now in the last week. The proportions are all out of whack.

The BBS wheels are still 17s, no larger than the standard wheels on the Club and GT trims. The wheels and Brembos come in a package available for the Club trim, and the aero kit is another package. The Bilsteins and sport springs are standard on the Club trim along with the LSD and FSTB.

I've seen the car in person, too, and I think it looks good from every angle. Honestly, I prefer the standard dark grey wheels, they're a simple, classy design, and I'm already tired of black wheels everywhere. Nothing against the BBSes, just not my thing.

I guess we will never agree on the looks of the new miata. At least it isn't the bland styling of the previous generations.
I can say we are quite spoiled by the looks of our cars. I don't think I can say there is anything at this price range that looks anywhere as good.

I forgot to mention the one small detail that Mazda is trying to slip under the rug and hide from us.

NO LSD! unless you buy a package.

That's something I wouldn't mind, except it's worse -- you have to get the Club trim, and only the Club trim, to get a LSD in the US. The GT trim, which has heated leather seats, does not offer the LSD as an option.

The NDs are hitting the dealers today and going on sale tomorrow for the first time in the US. Soon Daemono will be staring at the back of a lot more Miatas.
