How is removing a badge rice? I've know the term today is used by so many idiots to include any mod they personally don't like these days but, wow.

While I get your point an F150 isn't a good example as most of them always have ugly alignment holes behind the badging.

Yes. I took the lettering off an accord and civic. It just looks like shit on most (maybe all, but i haven't seen all) cars.

The fact that I could remove the lettering with my finger on a hot summer day on my BRZ is just a facepalm. The fact that badging for most cars is different depending on region shows it is just marketing and advertising.

If you think a car is rice because the owner took of some stickers,

No reason to debadge, Subaru BRZ is a mark of distinction on its own.

No, I completely debadged my Silverado and when I traded it in, it had no impact on making the car cheaper. It looks better clean and smooth. I've had multiple compliments on it, and was even paid to do it for neighbors. I will always debadge my cars.

I've gotta go with BRZfan on this.

Personally I see de-badging on other cars as an indication that other things have been fiddled with in a DIY manner. In the past, when I've bought used, I always shopped around for the most stock car I could find. De-badging itself isn't an issue, but it's usually a red flag on the second hand market.

All that said, I DID remove the FR-S badge from my trunklid. Because it's my car and I'll do what I want. :-)

I think it's free, it just gives the purchaser the option for the badge to never get affixed in the first place.

My F150 lost the "STX" on the bed side, the night I brought it home. I'd shave the rest of the emblems, but their are holes behind them, and I don't want to weld and repaint. My 1991 Escort lost all it's emblems soon after it came home, my 1988 Ranger had the emblems, door handles, tailgate handle, antenna, front corner markers, and probably a few things I'm forgetting shaved.

Most of the population won't notice. Of those that do, no one has ever said they didn't like it.

I have not shaved any emblems off my BRZ though. The lettering is the only thing I would consider at this point, since no repaint is involved.

Dealer stickers come off asap, regardless.
