^ Agreed. The general consensus is that you want more focus on changing your oil and filter at your proper intervals, depending on your driving. If we were stretching cars with the same oil/filter up to 25k miles (such as with Mobil 1 Annual Protection oil, if you wanted to take that chance), then a better filter becomes more important. As for ordinary interval oil changes, there is really not much to worry about. Get one of the OEM filters that is cheaper for you and stick to it!

Generally agree about using whatever oil, but for us who see -20° to -30° during the winter months I see some value in oils that have better flow rate when cold.
Amsoil and penzoil platinum flow well compared to most oils in that category. There was some interesting testing done by project farm on YouTube on how oils survive in various conditions. |
