Nice one. Looks like the dash cam paid off! I have the same model. It's a great piece of kit for the price.
Although a word of warning to others looking at this same model - I have had problems with mine interfering with the FM transmission on my radio. The ebay seller sent me a newer charger which fixed the FM interference, but it still causes my GPS to lose signal occasionally. Seems like i'm not the only one according to dashcamtalk.com. This is running mine through the supplied Cigarette Adapter though. A professional install like Ottopilot's where it's wired through the stereo might fix the issue? |

Does anyone have a tutorial on how to wire the camera into car's electric system? About how much would a professional installation run?

It takes very very little power. Runs on 5 volts.

So I just got my car back! Took them 2 days to fix, and replaced the scion logo because because they did remove the whole thing to repaint the corner. I'm pretty happy of the overall quickness of everything.
The only thing I had to pay was 6$ to fill up the Kia Optima I had for a rental. The end

I miss the good ol days When people actually cared about their community and if they hit someones car in the parking lot they left a note with a phone number so they could call and get it straightened out...

I got my dashcam. Otto, do you know how to set it so that it keeps recording after you've turned off the car? Turning off the car turns off my dashcam. Or do you have it wired so its on all the time?
Also, can you elaborate on how you have it mounted? I can't get it as close to the headliner as you have it with the suction cup (it doesnt stick to the dotted area very well). Thanks in advance... |

If you don't report the guy, you are defeating the purpose of the dashcam. Maybe the damage was minimal, but that's exactly what the other driver would say. Would he say the same if you rubbed HIS truck? Doubt it.
Things like this make me seriously consider getting my own dashcam... |
