#926 reporting in from the SF Bay Area

Just purchased #926 a week ago with a little over 8K miles. Really fun! Drove 350 miles up to Oregon to pick her up. Beautiful drive through the Mt. Shasta area on the way home.

Installed a Perrin shorty antenna, K&N filter, and have a slim black Perrin shift knob on the way.

Looking at bike rack options. Already have a really nice 1 1/4 Kuat rack, so may go with the Torklift invisi hitch: http://torkliftcentral.com/2013-2015...cohitch-invisi

These forums have been really helpful in figuring out how everything works, and which mods I may want to do in the future.
By the way, where is the button to thank someone?

I'm also considering driving part of Route 66 this Summer. Hopefully that will work out!

You'll need 10+ posts before the Thanks button appears.

Nice car, now c'mon up and stay for awhile.

How/where did you find it?

Thanks! Bought the car in Medford Oregon after months of looking online. Even though it's a 2013, the original purchase date was 2014, so there's still 2 years/25K left on the warranty.

There's a little ding in the back bumper that I may get repaired, and a little bit of curb rash on the wheels. Other than that, it's pretty clean. My neighbors all thought it was new. Pre-purchase inspection didn't show any signs of repair or problems. Did a wash, clay bar, and wax last weekend. The clay bar barely picked up anything, just a coupla minor spots on the hood.

The car is pretty quiet, too. Eventually I may soundproof the doors.

Bought the arm rest today after more research on these forums.

I was driving a Mazda 3 before because I had a long commute. I wish I'd been driving the FR-S the whole time though. I feel like I just made a quantum leap in vehicle choice.

Nice!

Check with your dealership to see if it had the HPFPv.2 TSB completed. It killed my crickets and they never returned although some say they will eventually. It's a $900 repair covered under warranty for free but takes a half-day.

Yeah, with stock exhaust the car is quiet. I had a Perrin unresonated and PSS tires that together created racecar sounds but wouldn't be great for commuting.

Have fun!

@torqdork - thanks again. Assuming the local Scion dealer look up my car by VIN # to see which TSB's have been completed?

Right, along with a TSB sticker on the upper radiator support bracket or firewall but sometimes the tech forgets that step.

Well the time has come. My 10 Series is off to a new owner... number 716 is off in the wild of Santa Maria CA.

I have really enjoyed the car for the short time I owned it but it was time for me to move on.

I thank those that helped me for my time of ownership on here.

If anyone is interested I still have the truck mat. I forgot I pulled that out a couple months ago and it is sitting in my garage. If anyone is interested in purchasing it send me a message and I will get you some pictures and a price.

Is that the mat that goes on the floor of the trunk or on the trunk lid itself?

For anyone interested:
Some of you may recall in April that I took my 10 FRS into the dealer because the illuminated dash panel quit working. Toyota had the dealer order the small ECU that is located under the center console to fix it. They said to try that, then a complete wiring harness next if problem persisted, then finally the $1100 panel itself if the first two didn't fix it. And just for fun, order them separately after trying each in sequence. I just got back from the dealer, they finally just today got the ECU in. It did not repair the problem. It took 2+ months to get it in. The technician again confirmed to them that there is voltage going to the illuminated panel, and that he believes it is the culprit. Toyota persists in this slow and systematic approach to correcting the fault. The dealer ordered the wiring harness today. At this rate, I won't have this repaired until October or November. And, I will have well less than a year on my warranty before they get it working. This also means they won't have to fix it again when it fails again. I am supremely disappointed in Toyota. How these kinds of wait times are acceptable to them defies logic. I am going to start looking into a new car for my wife soon. I am scratching Toyota off the list. I have bought many new cars in my time, and have never experienced so much quibbling from a car maker. The dealer wanted to order the whole kit, and replace whatever needed replaced to fix this, but Toyota USA simply will not allow it. I agree this is a small issue, but it is indicative of the mistreatment I believe I can expect if I were to come in with a major problem. Love my FR-S, but not going to spend money on a Lexus with this experience now. Anybody driven an Infiniti Q50? Always had great experience with Nissan.

That really does suck and I'm not really enjoying my Toyota experience either. It may have to do with my dealership, however. I will say this, when I bought my car the panel wasn't glued down well enough, so the dealer agreed to fix it and ordered a new panel. It took no more than 4 months to have it all taken care of, so I really couldn't tell who is giving you the shaft on this.
