Tuning options for rallying
I am currently building an 86 for gravel rallying and wanted to know what a good tuning option is for the car.
It will have the ABS and air con removed. Would EcuTek or Open Flash have the capability of running the car without having a shitfit with those items removed? Or can you go with an aftermarket ECU if you are just wanting to run the engine without all the factory accessories? (has anyone done this?) I know Motec have the M150 for this car but that is for when you have all the factory stuff still in the car. The car must remain N/A under the rules here in Australia. Just looking at options Cheers |

Ecutek should be able to do all you ask without having a shitfit lol. It seems as if they pretty much have almost complete control over what the ecu can do.
Check delicioustuning http://www.ft86club.com/forums/member.php?u=80186 they have done a number of rally cars it seems http://www.delicioustuning.com/portfolio |

We've tuned several professional rally GT86's recently using the stock ECU and EcuTek/RaceRom with great success. There are a few things you will need to do to beyond flashing a tune to run without ABS, etc. without the ECU running in limp mode. Here are a couple of links on here about the rally cars we tuned recently: Professional Rally GT86, Peru: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74777 Specific about the tune/performance: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...97&postcount=3 Rally GT86 (Rally Spec-Built by Toyota New Zealand TR-86) with stock ECU and EcuTek/RaceRom: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78490 Please contact us via PM or email at tuning@circuitmotorsports.net for more information. We look forward to hearing from you! - Bob |

@Stumpygt86 I believe @86drift does some rally type events with his 86 in Sydney. Neal Bates has also toyed with the 86 a fair bit so you could probably give his workshop in Canberra a call (unless you are at a level where he may be your competition)
Lastly do you have a build thread? I'd love to see what goes into building a proper rally 86.

I tune mine with BRZedit and can help you out with a tune.
As for ABS and VSC solution is very simple. Pull the fuse. Computer wont have a hissyfit. You can also pull the AB fuse if you haven't taken them all out already. Removing AC isn't a problem either. |
