Clay told me 3M tape, no hardware. I'll tell you for sure tomorrow

No drilling required. It is installed using 3M double-sided tape.

Got mine installed last night. This thing is so so so so nice! What a nice fit and finish. On top of all that, it looks better than any other ducktail I've seen to date, when installed on the car.

Got it installed today. Cleaning the crud off the paint under the OEM spoiler was the hardest part. This is the matte finish.

G-DAMN those pieces look good! I was just falling in love with my 17+ OEM spoiler with gurney flap too...

Looks like I still got my name in for the 17+ fitment!

Any IDEAL methods for covering up the holes if replacing OEM spoilers? (2013-2016 and 2017+ models)

I was thinking some vinyl squares?

The 3M pattern on the bottom of the wing should seal off the area where the holes are. But, to be certain, I covered the holes with green painter's tape from behind. I guess vinyl would work the same, if not better.

If you are worried about water, vinyl squares would work well. It would be a good idea just in case.

Cleaning is definitely difficult and important for proper adhesion. Looks great!

That was our idea with the 3M tape ultimately .

Thanks,
Eric

After having a could days to look at mine and how it sits on the car, here is my only criticism:

I wish the emboss where the tape sits under the wing was a little deeper so that the wing sits more flush with the surface of the deck lid. The emboss looks to be about 0.5-1.0mm deep where the 3M tape is about 1.5-2mm thick. This leaves a subjectively noticeable gap that's most noticeable at the leading edge of the wing. I don't think the standard passerby would notice, but its something I've noticed when installing and keep noticing as I check out the car walking through the garage.

I don't think it would affect functionality at all; purely aesthetic.

Thank you for the feedback. We will look into this further on the 2017+ unit which will become the (1) spoiler we will ultimately stock as it will work for all generations. We'll see if we can reduce this while making sure the double-sided tape joint remains solid.

There is obviously a give and take with fitment and best bond characteristics. We wanted to ensure the double-sided tape had the best possible chance at adhering to both the spoiler and the trunk; so by nature, the tape has to be slightly thicker than the recess. This ensures a good bond joint when you place the spoiler on the trunk.

Thanks,
Eric

Ohhh this looks nice, Eric. Wonder what affect it would have w/ the Aero of the tS wing!

Absolutely. Honestly, the depth you guys have the emboss at may be the best case for repeatable fit without it being too deep. I'm not sure what the tolerance range you guys have called out for that depth, or what a realistic, repeatable measurement is when molding carbon is, but this may be the best, safest option.

In all reality, the issue is not all that serious.

For those that are still interested, Verus is now taking names for the 17+ ducktail. The more that sign up, the cheaper it will be. The time has come for us 17+ boys and girls
