Mods:
FT-86 Speedfactory UEL Catted header.
Nameless resonated/catted downpipe/overpipe combo 2.5"
PERRIN Catback exhaust 2.5"
Injen intake (Or maybe a drop-in filter to save some money)

I mostly want the tune to make the vehicle as efficient as I can with these mods, while still keeping it operating right. I don't know much about tuning, just that it can be more efficient for the car. I don't want to do anything that can mess up the engine or damage it. Also not looking for an E85 tune. Is there anything that fits this? Nice, clean, efficient, but still with some gains.

This is a daily driven car and most likely won't see any tracks. It may, in the future, see auto-x, but that's nothing I'm planning right away.
Recently there has been a lot of new options that have come to this market.

I continue to use EcuTek for all my customers, it was the first option and IMO the best because it's good for the person that wants something mild or wild.

Additionally EcuTek is easy to use and is always coming out with awesome updates, so it's money well spent.

EcuTek also has a HUGE dealer network so you'll never have a problem finder a tuner.

My STG2 Tune and your mods will make that TRQ dip away.

I hope OFT has plans to offer a service down the road.
you get whoever you paid to tune it for you to fix it. send them the logs, they send you a new tune. all of the ecutek tuners work this way, and i believe shiv has plans to offer this service in the future as well.

Another OFT fan. It's very easy, is proven safe and reliable, and is one of the less expensive options.

The OFT has offered datalogging for some time now. it also offers data on-screen data graphing and numerical data displays. So you can even view data logging graphs, realtime, while you are driving. Or you can record to on-board memory, download the data file (.csv) and view it online (www.datazap.me) or with our free datalog analysis application.

Great question OP I was going to ask the same thing. Um so if anyone would like to answer my questions I would appreciate it..

1. Is the tune friendly with a muffler delete?
2. Is there a significant increase in speed?
3. Which tune should I get?
4. Hi

Oh sorry my mistake, I haven't been keeping up with the progress. Sounds like a lot of progress has been made!

Pretty sure any tuning software under 1k is going to be fine for daily driving tunes. Usually you'd go for the AEM / Hydra / Motec standalone when you are going all out. I use ECUTEK on my BRZ and it has been great for different tunes I've had, non header, with header, turbo tuning with injectors. But I've also used the AEM standalone before on my Supra and it really gets everything exactly how you want it because there is an unlimited amount of options you can fine tune. It's all personal preference really, I would suggest finding a great tuner in your area first and discuss which tuning methods they recommend for your car and needs.

Another OFT user here. The OFT was without a doubt the best bang for the buck mod I've purchased for my car so far. I've ran both the E85 tune and the Stage1 tune and the results were impressive to me.

I've ran about 4 tanks of E85 through my car using the OFT E85 tune. There is a very noticeable increase in performance, so much so it feels like you've picked up a couple of cylinders. I figure I've lost about 1/4 of the tread off my tires during those 4 tanks - driving it like I stole it. E85 and the OFT tune is easily a 25hp increase on the butt dyno.

As for daily driving, the Stage1 tune on 93oct is easily worth the cost of admission for the OFT. Simple, easy horse power. I've ran that tune for awhile now and can say it is miles beyond the stock tune and have had zero issues.

In fact, I liked the OFT/vishnu product so much that I took Shiv at his word when they recommended their own UEL OF header solution. I ordered my header on day 1 of the offering and once delivered and installed I will move the OFT Stage2 tune. Merry Christmas to me!

Before changing anything, take several recordings under different road and load conditions to get a baseline of what *your* car is doing.
Each car is different. These aren't homogenous mayonnaise.
This way you can identify which parameters in the tune you want to modify eventually.

Changing one thing may affect other parts of the tune, so you want to be able to review how it all goes together when you start adjusting the variables.

The logs are to see how the whole system is working together and are needed when you make changes in it.
Once you are comfortable with it, you don't need to make more logs until you want to change hardware again, or see what that other variable will do.

Current before and after logs are important to measure the state of the engine. This can change over time due to wear and how clean the sensors are.

Or some junk like that...

From what I've been reading the OFT seems to be not only a stand alone but simple to use with Data Logging has everything that the basic DD Tuner or Modern Day Shade Tree Mechanic might need to get that extra Umph.

The Ecu Tek might be more flexible in nature but requires a PC and not comparable with a Mac as yet anyway.
And more money plus not as simplistic so more for the Hardcore Tuner.

So I plan to go Catted Header, with TRD Catback, TRD or Perrin Drop in Air Filter for my 13' FRS DD; and I'm leaning toward the OFT.
Thanks for the info and the Lesson Fellas.
