A friend of mine has a 2015 golf R, the TCU upgrade + the ECU tune is insane, but not work it till you install there intake system and intercooler upgrade as well, after that theres only really the stage 3 turbo upgrade.

One of my friends just bought an S3, essentially a repackaged Golf R. He's already thrown ~$15k into the car on a stage 3 package and track mods (stoptech BBK, oil cooler, camber hats, springs, bushings, swaybar, tires, wheels, etc.) Pretty wild - says it should be making about 500 hp when it's all done. I should have the chance to track it in a few months, looking forward to trying it out.

Or you can do what i did. Buy the wife a Golf R with DSG, buy yourself the Golf R with manual, and then both of you race/AX on the weekends in the household BRZ.

It makes me smile quite a bit.
