Exactly, it’s a spherical joint paired with hardly any insulation in the firewall/dash.

I put my stock V bars on and the noise went away, but quickly went back to the STi bars because a noise is liveable if you know it’s normal.

Hi guys, I think I may have found a very inexpensive fix. I removed my V-braces and stuck some dynamat under each piece where they make contact with the firewall and fender. Reinstalled them and torqued the bolts to the point where the dynamat was squishing out on the sides of the bar and voila the noise is gone.

Whew, glad to know that this is common and nothing to worry about.

Strange for me, it only happens when the car is cold. After maybe 10-15 minutes, it disappears. Took it to the dealer and they didn't really do anything except retorque a few bolts. Came back driving home from the dealer lol.

Just glad to know it's nothing to be worried about!

Glad I came across this. I've noticed the same noise but it happened so infrequent I kept thinking I was hearing things.
Ill have to try to dynamat trick. Smart idea!
