Just finished flashing my ecu. Install was rather easy with no leaks. My afr is at 16.5. Is this normal for the base tune?

This thread is too quiet for such a nice kit.

Mandatory supporting mods for this kit (in AZ where it gets 105-110 regularly in summer)? Oil cooler? Catch can?

In addition to those, consider running higher octane like E85 (if it is somewhat convenient).

Also for the oil cooler. Don't just get an off-the-shelf kit as they are far too small for spirited driving and especially track driving. @mkivsoopra and I have tested the OTS perrin 13 row series 6 kit and it was inadequate for even spirited driving in the twisties. I recommend the 20 row series 9. It is possible the 15 row series 9 could work but I have not seen it tested with a turbo. It works well with the JRSC though as CSG has put it through its paces.

That is not normal at all. You might have an exhaust leak or the tune is off.

Where is your UEGO sensor? Is this AFR at idle? An exhaust leak pre turbo would cause you to read lean if you are using the PTuning downpipe location for the exhaust sensor. I think my cruising and idle AFR is in the 14's if I recall correctly.

I think you didn't mention when you are reading this AFR? If its at idle its fine, if its during any WOT then definitely take caution.

I'd imagine a 15 row would be okay, as the JRSC uses a smaller FMIC than the ptuning kit, and typically has slightly higher IATs in my experience, meaning the air going to the oil cooler is probably hotter post-FMIC.
