I must agree with FRiSson. E46toFT86 is a front runner. He belongs in the Euro scene.

Thanks bud. Yeah going to have to control my urges lol. 520 RWHP.
Wait, what?? Your current E46M3 has 520 RWHP?!

What's your setup? My E39 has a Dinan supercharged V8 that's "only" putting out around 450hp at the crank. How'd you get an I6 boosted to 520 at the wheels? Was the trans and rear diff upgraded to match? I'm running the Dinan M5 3.45 limited slip diff in mine, but stock trans (aside from the trans reflash).

I get it but

Those of us that know the difference between the performance and pedigree of an M3 and other makes of BMW's get why you are doing this, however there are so many of them out there that use the same platform they are impossible to tell apart. My wife drives a Mercedes but you can't tell it apart from a 300, 350 and AMG which gives the aura of sameness and saturated (ie too many on road to be special). Good luck and enjoy your new ride but I believe your stunning FRS was the real keeper here. Beautiful car!

That I6 in the E46 can easily make that sort of power. Hell, the N54 can make 700+ now.

Wow. Just because a lot of douches own BMWs, doesn't mean the car itself is bad or not an "enthusiast" car. The M cars, and even the regular BMWs, are incredible. I daily a 330i E46, and I love it to death. The combination of aggressive suspension and comfort is insanely good, and there is a REASON people take beat up 30 year old BMWs straight to the race track. They were built with just a different set of design principles than pretty much everything else out there. To throw the whole marquee away just because a lot of douches drive them is pretty ridiculous. Do I look like a douche in my white 330i? Probably. Do I enjoy the hell out of that car and it's performance characteristics? Beyond all reason. AND, if you join your local BMW CCA, you'll see all of the other owners that bought the car for the same reasons- the ultimate driving machine fans, and they will be out there on the track or autocross course or CCC having a ton of fun and really using these cars for what they were designed to handle.

It's easy to fall in love with a BMW. I do it every time I work on it and take it apart, because I can see the thoughtfulness and care taken with designing every part. Hell, I just found out about the DISA a few weeks ago- a stinkin extra airbox bolted to the intake manifold that opens and closes at various RPMs and throttle positions that expands or reduces the intake volume to increase torque across the band. Holy hell, these things have built in volume maximizers stock?! Stock oil coolers? Stock air oil separators that connect to each intake runner? A pain to fix maybe, but the design is other-worldly.
