VIR Testing, August NASA Event
Alright everyone,
I spent the weekend at VIR with NASA and had an absolute blast. It was scorching hot and it's time for an oil cooler (temps hit over 260 degrees for oil a couple times). The car felt great and the Ohlins felt even better. Again, I'm no pro driver and drove HPDE 2 SOLO all weekend. My average laps were between 2:25 and 2:30, so I'm very happy with everything and really couldn't expect a better setup. To drive 4 hours to the track, change nothing, drive all weekend, throw all my crap back in my car and drive 4 hours home without changing a single thing? I mean, come on. From my understanding I was able to corner at an additional 5-6 mph and under hard braking while trying to trail brake. I felt the suspension was a lot stronger, and as an example of this I felt it most in turn 1, 11 and 14. Again, more seat time can be the result of this, but this DFV Dedicated kit is a dope setup for the money. Let me know what questions you have and criticism on my driving is welcome.. because that's the only way you get better. I just sent my Ohlins in for a rebuild and re-valve to the Dedicated spec and I'm planning to get a set of Swift springs. What's the length of your springs and are the helper springs necessary? Thanks.

@sidebrake - what spring rates where you running and what new spring rates you plan on going with via Swift springs.
As for spring lengths, I found in other threads that original spring that comes with the R&T kit are approx. 9". Swift makes a wide range of spring rates at this length that could work. |
