I have the carbon harness as well, but my issue was with the backup cam. They were adamant the 6v/12v converter was not required but my camera did not work until I got a local shop to inspect the harness and add a converter.

I would not be surprised if the issue is with your harness.

Carbon has stopped shipping these altogether to NA from what I know and their customer service went silent on me after just a couple of emails.

Best of luck

My Android Auto is fine, and reception too. The only issue I get is Spotify that plays music, but not controls the app. ANd Miracast not working, but it should be a phone issue.

Investigating further on steering wheels remote, revealed that the P/N I posted is not the most complete version; this is the 2018 version, that misses the mute button in center of the volume control. The most complete version is the 2017 one, but I can't find the number. I would be glad if someone could PM me the VIN number of ths particular version.

Canadian versions miss one button, as they have the voice control in place of the mute button, all the other versions have the voice command button on right switches.

For those struggling with the backup camera when using the Carbon Car Systems harness, you may find my fix for DDX918WS on '17 BRZ useful:

Resurrecting this thread since I just got the DDX919WS and the plug-n-play Carbon Car Systems harness for my '18 BRZ and having issues with the rear view camera.

The CCS harness already came with the PAC Volt-39 unit already attached and taped in the loom.

Everything works perfectly with the exception of the rear view camera. It works in ACC on mode but not when the engine is running.

Since everything is Tesa taped together, I can't see if the Volt-39 wires are attached as they should be (like in your photo above.)

Any ideas?

Great to hear that they've updated the harness already!

Contact CCS for help or undo the tape and check yourself.
Also check which voltage the Volt-39 is set to.

Yeah, I've been messaging Daniel at CCS. Still no solution though. I'm wondering if the Volt-39 was installed differently than your setup in the harness he provided.

However, if it doesn't work, I may just get an aftermarket rear view (12v) camera and install it directly to the (12v) head unit.

Edit: I did install a front view camera to utilize the additional camera input for the HU and it works perfectly. Just a $40 camera from Amazon. Go figure. I think it's the damn 6v from the OEM unit that's giving me all the trouble.

As long as you already have Volt-39 there and I presume it was added specifically to handle the OEM backup camera, it seems 10x simpler to figure out why it doesn't do what it was designed to do, than trying to change the camera.

You mean between the steering wheel and the head unit? When using the harness, there's a single headphone jack looking connector between the steering wheel and the head unit. I presume all buttons share the same couple of wires and use something like different capacity for the HU to determine which one is pressed.

Well, I got both cameras working.

However, they're both producing this weird static. The front camera is scrolling a ghost image of the front and vice versa.

I checked all my connections and tried a couple of different grounding points.

Would a relay/filter/capacitor fix this issue?

Does FM radio work on these head units as they imports? Debating doing this to my 18' or if I should wait to see if they have a new 2020 model that comes out here in the states.

Thanks!

FM frequency for these models is 87.5-108 MHz with 0.05 Mhz steps.
