Dealer said they can't honour warranty since it's part of the "Clutch Assembly" even with the extra coverage.. they're "Sending it off to Toyota Canada" to see if they'll make an exception.. yeah right.
Most annoying thing is I've brought it up with them in the past, while I was under the 60,000km cut off, but they swore they couldn't hear anything wrong.. Now the car's at 68,000km, suddenly "Oh yeah, that needs to be replaced" Not impressed and kinda lost for what to do at this point, I don't have the money for a clutch job right now

Technically clutch is wear and tear like the brakes, but it's really up to the service director if they'd warranty it. When mine went out at about 27K miles they did not want to honor the warranty saying the damage was due to "performance driving" and not a defect.

Moral of the story is .. if one dealer service dep wont honor the warranty take it to another.. make friends with service advisor and they might hook it up.. or not.

Correct. I had mine serviced under warranty, especially after there was a TSB for the throw out bearing .

Mine had the pressure plate replaced along with throw out bearing, and pivot point was lubricated with a more resilient grease, all under warranty. Keep trying.

Sorry for fixing it, or for waiting so long? I forgive you for the latter.

Don't drive it. You can still save your pressure plate.

If you know how to do it, shift without using the clutch as much as you can. Be gentle.

If you don't know how and you want to learn, lemme know. It takes a little practice for timing and feel but is pretty simple.

Thanks but I'll be heading back tomorrow. Good thing is that it will all expressway so won't be shifting much. It's not sounding as bad as when I made the video. Now to try as see if I can somehow get Toyota to cover this. This seems like a defective part from what I've seen in this thread. I'm pretty gentle with my car, never even been on a track. I could understand if I was beating on it, but the most I would expect is a worn pressure plate. I've had plenty of manuals before this car and never had a TOB issue.
