I was under the impression that any tinting of side/front is illegal in Alberta. I wouldn't mind doing mine, but I'm certain some officer will ask me to remove it. Apparently there was a "crackdown" in my town a few months ago.

Thanks, I will probably end up going with Shadow Tint.

It is illegal but a lot of people still do it. I hear they don't hassle you as long as it's not under 40%ish tint. At least in Calgary, not sure how hard they are in Edmonton.

Anyone had any experience with getting the dealership to install one of those 3M clear bra's? I forgot to ask if that's even an option when I ordered my car in.
Also, this may be a dumb question but...Has anyone ever been able to buy a car without tires haha? My order will be arriving mid November and I've already got a set of winter tires in the garage, as well as a nice set of summer wheels from a friends STI. As it stands I would have no use for the Primacy's that come with the car. My first time buying a car brand new from a dealership, or buying a car in general if you don't count the grand am I "bought" from my parents for a dollar. So ya, probably a dumb questions but I was curious.

It really just depends on how dark you get the tint and how much of an ass you are when he pulls you over and your driving. I have 40% all around except my front windshield and no one has ever pulled me over...

I've done the 3m clear bra. If I could do it again I wouldn't. Only reason I did it in the first place was the bra I ordered hadn't arrived with the vehicle and I talked myself into fender protection. I'll likely get it removed one the spring.

yup, just dont do anything to draw attention to yourself and you should be fine with whatever amount of tint you have on your front windows.

Ive been pulled over once for speeding and they cop used the front window tint for my offense instead of the speeding ticket cuz it would be cheaper Didnt tell me to remove it though.
Ive also been pulled over for speeding without any mention of the window tint.
I had a friend with like 5% tint on the front windows (it was like 5% all around) and he pulled up next to cop at a stop light at NIGHT. I think the cop looked over but since he wasnt driving like a fast and furious dufus the cop just ignored him.

And then along time ago one of my friends was ticketed for the front window tint and had to remove it lol, that wasnt fun lol.

I plan on driving my BRZ year round. It's an entry level, cheap Japanese car. I see no point in parking it and driving a POS with no amenities. Studded winter tires should be here by Tuesday.

It's been okay so far, I've been taking it easy. I just hate it when people tailgate me. I don't drive under the speed limit or anything either, just braking early and slow starts from a stop.
