Also any reason why I’m not getting a low fuel pressure code?

So I switched the tune and loaded both my tune from full blown and my stock tune and with both of them I had no maf sensor code.

As for my fuel pressure I have 2 high pressure pumps and a known good DI module. Low side fuel pressure is getting there confirmed with mechanical gauge but it doesn’t seem to be creating pressure. I disconnected the connector for the high pressure pump and checked with noid light to make sure it was receiving the signal and it is receiving it.

This is a issue that I had at times before the built engine too just now on a completely larger scale. My fuel presussure on high side would randomly just drop. Normally I would turn the car off and let it cool down a bit and it came right back.

I was thinking the fuel pressure sensor maybe? But again wouldn’t that throw a code? I bench tested as per service manual but from experience it doesn’t always mean it’s good even if you bench test it.

Still fighting this issue please any help is appreciated!!!

Alright people idk if any of you are still keeping up with this thread but I hope this will help people that have my same issue in the future

I had everything I needed to run. Compression, air coming in, spark, and fuel

Just didn’t have enough fuel pressure. My cylinder 1 and 4 spark plugs were sooty and cylinders 2 and 3 were looking good still. Car started but didn’t build fuel pressure nor idled properly

So after what seemed like endless fault tracing and swapping parts I so happened to comment on a post on the gulf coast 86 Facebook page and the homie @Frs300 replied to the comment saving my sanity

I was off timing on drivers side bank. Good thing is I was 180 off which then turned my compression to exhaust stroke and vise versa explaining why I had compression but the cam lobe was off for the high pressure pump so no pressure being built.

Can’t thank you guys enough for all your Yelp fault tracing, now it’s time to break in my engine and pray nothing else happens lol

That’s great news. I just started rebuilding mine today. Destroyed a rod bearing on the way to work yesterday doing a pull to redline in 4th on the interstate. Oil level is to the top dot. I got mine with 83k and I’ve always felt it had a faint rod knock. Everyone on this forum said it’s normal for them to sound like ass so after about three months of stressing out over it I accepted that it really was just normal.

Anyways, I think my plan right now is a short block. Tonight I started the engine pull. So far it’s been an easy project. All I have left is to unbolt the tranny and do the pull. I can’t wait to split the block and see if it’s seal material blocking flow to #4.
