If you like the car and want to keep it then don't worry so much, they will fit just fine. As long as you don't have to put your seat ALLLLLL the way back, it should be fine.

Thanks for all the replies.
I think I'm going to try and make this work. When the baby comes, and if it doesn't work, then I can make a decision.

I have a 5-year old, and bought the FR-S specifically because it does have a back seat. So here's my advise, FWIW:

1. Return the car to stock/mostly stock. This accomplishes 2 things: it will make the ride more comfortable & you won't have to worry about futzing with mods that inevitably take away time (which you won't have.)

2. Purchase baby stuff that will comfortably fit in the car. E.g., a Chico-style carrier base, umbrella stroller, etc.

3. Consider an inexpensive car for your SO as a second car. I highly recommend a gen1 xB.

4. Finally, relax and enjoy fatherhood. Babies are surprisingly resilient and your child isn't going to care/remember what kind of car you drive, so long as you are comfortable with it; the important thing is love your kid regardless of what you decide to drive.

I don't think it's safe to get a baby a car.

Cute girls.

Again, thanks for all the info. Hopefully once my little one comes along I can also provide some feedback to the new dads

Yeah, you do that. I was in your boat, I waited, my VR4 was my pride and love. I really ended up selling it....well cheaper than it deserved.

I ended up buying RX350 for my wife and baby.

Because then there is only one thing that recirculating in my mind " Baby + Momy safety, and comfy ride "

I couldn't bare pushing her in and out the back seats, my wife bumpy ride, and the pressure of worry and stress every time doing that in every day.

But, you know what ? I am missing my sporty ride again. That is why I am really in love with the Twin, I just can't judge myself of buying one, just because it is impractical for my family.

Car depreciate fast......it will come to the point where you would do leggs work to save a few K, or trade in to a dealer to save stress and time for a few K.

Either way, I hope you found a solution of which will bring you happiness. I chose to relieve my stress, and that I sold my Sport ride for a better ride for my wife and baby. I did that, simply, because that was my vows.

I will be no doubt in the sporty ride again, but in doing that the car I am waiting for have to be worthy, for example...a 2.5L 250HP 86 with 8k redline Mwahahaha.....It is nice to Dream LOL

I'm really scared of trading it in and being upside down again on yet another car lol. I go through cars like water it seems.

My wife has a 2012 Nissan Murano that is baby friendly, but I feel my car should be friendly as well. She doesn't know how to drive manual, and i'm scared to teach her. She might bottom out the car or curb check my rims

I used to have a FJ cruiser and I loved the rugged feel of that SUV, but the suicide doors are stupid. So I won't be looking at those. I do really like the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, but they are damn expensive for what they are....even used ones. If I go for a more simple SUV I really like the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport AWD 2.0T.

I see, so you already have one SUV in the family. The Murano is a really good SUV, and as if you think your car should be friendly as well, we have the same thinking.

I really think of the WRX. You get AWD, 2.0 Turbo, Sedan 4 doors. 40% stiffer suspensions than the Prev Gen. 265 HP and 250 lbs ft. Those will get you 0-60 in 5.3 seconds or so, which is obviously Fast....well not fast enough, but You can not beat AWD and 4 doors for a family.

There is another interesting Punk too, the Nissan PUKE (Juke!) with the Nismo RS, it has 210 HP i think, also an SUV, AWD, sporty. Ugly like hell LOL, but it will get the job done.

Honestly, Puke RS let me down, I thought they could do 270 HP out of it, and AWD, then they will have me as a buyer, but obviously not. So I am on my quest again.

The WRX is very appealing, or STI. Evo ? not so much, since Mitsu is dying, IS ? too expensive, and I dont need all the fancy nanny stuff as I already have the RX.

Regarding the "let your wife train on stick-shift" If she wanted, sure. Anyone would love to be able to do what they want. If not, don't force her. Women is easily distracted while driving. I would take wife safety priority, because without her there is no "My family" You are correct in worrying so.

I don't know if you would agree with me, but for me, the WRX atleast will stick with me for a while....I mean like at least 10 years before I swap. By that time, I dont even know if new technologies will bring Automatically driven cars, Hybrid, Solar, Wind Oxygen and Hydrogen Vehicles....or whatever the heck they may bring. But the WRX certainly will go through them all Unless...engine Problems...which is comon for WRX LOL

Words have it, that the Sedan FT86 will be released as well. High posibility, it will canibalize WRX for sure, but again, different breeds.

RWD vs AWD.....different profiles.

Oh, and there is also another Cat in the Bag. The mazda 6. I don't know about you, but I am not so much into the FWD stuff. If you do, check it out, very affordable, also fun to drive. Possibility of Diesel and or Speed 6....but that is the same as speculating the 86 Sedan

Keep your car. Save your money for the child.

When my son was born I was looking at the Miata and a 370Z. You can easily make due with one car as the family mobile. My wife doesn't/won't drive stick either so no excuses. :P
