Let me better understand, your sound quality improved substantially with a change in front end units?

Yes, feels like there is a lot more drive to the speakers with clarity to boot.

I just drove 2400 plus miles on my '13 basic HU, it did improve once I put it in FR-S mode.. That made it tolerable..

But the '14 HU installed, I noticed a quality difference right away. I use "feel" on the sound setting. Neutral is to flat.

edit: as one of the people who bought the reference series while it was still in presale, is it possible to change the default "balanced" bass reproduction to either robust or full as we weren't offered this option before? I would very much like to change to either robust or full as the bass is sometimes imperceivable at freeway speeds over the road noise and exhaust note. Is this something that has to be sent in or can it be done at the 86 meets in Irvine possibly? More bass was my only complaint of the system and I hope I'm not screwed for being an early adopter =/.

I have the same question. I ordered balanced for my car, but my exhaust may require full (Nameless cat'd cat back). If I find that I loose too much bass while driving on the freeway I'd like to be able to adjust the baseline setting.

Just got my system returned (thanks Daniel @oemaudioplus); decided to go straight to the "Robust" setting since I listen mainly to house and rock and have an aftermarket exhaust. Must say it is quite the difference in terms of bass reproduction; on the flat setting it gives a decent amount of oomph even at highway speeds with the drone of my exhaust now while on the balanced setting the bass was pretty much inperceivable.
I was worried about the sound quality being ruined by changing it but surprisingly it's just as good. I'm not sure if it's placebo but I feel like I have to turn the volume slightly higher than before now though for the same loudness (compared to balanced) but this is might be because I am listening to it differently. Either way it's not a big deal since the max volume is way higher than I'd like to listen to anyways.

Overall I'm thoroughly impressed. I loved listening to the balanced setting while my car was idling but was a frustrated by my exhaust since it killed the bass. Changing the bass reproduction profile fixed my only complaint and working with OEM Audio+ to get it done was a breeze as I'm sure anyone who has dealt with their customer service know.

So I order this (Reference 400CF) from the Scion dealer and they will install it for me?

@SC10N you can order through your local Scion dealer or direct through O+.com / Whatever works best for you. Either way feel free to contact us directly -- we'll assist in getting your dealer the details and help you get the best install quote. 855-636-6346 (OEM-ODIO) x 4

Thank you OEM.

Stopped by my dealer today and they knew nothing about it. I gave him your website and is going to contact me tomorrow.

Any idea what they (my Lexus/Toyota/Scion dealer) would charge to do this install? They don't seem thrilled; what are my alternatives besides installing it myself?

Can't do.

@SC10N, unfortunately results vary from dealer to dealer regarding product knowledge and install rates. PM us your zip code and we'll find an OEM System Integration solution in your area.
