what is the torque of the drive shaft support? Do you keep tightening until you hear a click or? :/

Anyone install this with a resonated Perrin catback? I had trouble getting the torque wrench to one of the drive shaft support bolts...just used a 14mm wrench and tightened it as much as I could. Any thoughts on a tool to reach that bolt with the torque wrench without dropping down my exhaust?

I installed a Perrin rear shifter mount about a month ago. After about 1000 miles on the street and 2 track days I have to say that it is by far the biggest improvement per dollar, and time spent installing, than anything else I have done.

interesting, in reading a slew of reviews, most note a PITA install and a minor difference over OEM> noting that the MTEC springs and the WL positive shift makes the most difference.

could you elaborate on why you saw such an improvement ?

The bushing took a lot of side to side play out of the shifter and made it easier to find the next gear, especially when driving on track (fewer missed shifts). It took me about 15 minutes to install with the car already on jack stands for other work and the included instructions were very good.

I have not tried the MTEC or WL products so can not say how they compare.

After reading Neilvosko's comments about the MTEC kit I did some research and decided to give it a try (for $30 why not). Installation took about 30 minutes and there was an improvement, definitely worth the $30 and 30 minutes spent. The difference was that it is slightly easier to engage each gear and the center shift gate (3rd-4th gear) is more positive, so that it is easier to find 3rd when upshifting and 4th when downshifting. I have 3-4 weeks of street driving and about 100 miles on the track today and am completely happy with the MTEC kit in combination with the Perrin shit bushing. With this combination the shifting is very close to my S2000, which had the best transmission I have driven.

Just replaced the bushing and this DIY was extremely helpful. Just a few thoughts:

- I did it on my front porch and raised the car on jack stands about 2 clicks up. Man my neck hurts, it takes a lot of awkward bending and straining your neck to visibly see what you are doing.

- Based on comments, i put a crap load of grease on the perrin bushing and the stem. If you insert it in the correct orientation it should not be much of a challenge.

- First impressions, paired up with fresh motul transmission/differential fluid it is a much more fun car to shift. It no longer crunches but it does feel more mechanical if that makes any sense. It feels more like a solid bump as opposed to a notchy ordeal.

overall, this is a 45 minute job. Grab an ice cold beer, stretch a bit and get to it

Recently installed mine, torqued everything to spec, applied minimal lube, and it still feels the same as the one that comes with the trd quickshifter.

These are all the same terminology for the upsidedown "T" part, right?
Code:

 _|--|_
|______|
"Shifter Mount Bushing"
"Rear Stay Bushing"
"Rear Shifter Bushing"
"Rear Carrier bushing"

Why is there so many names for this part?

Shifter Bushing For Sale

https://images.ftspeed.com/image/pri...j2gfhfvp9h9vlb

Need help locating the bushing located at the bottom of the shifter underneath the white plastic piece. Mine is torn and i can't find any for sale. If anyone knows where I might find one that would be great.
