Winjet wobble

I just got a set of winjet headlights today. While I was checking them out I noticed that the right headlight projector seems to have a tiny bit of play. Anyone else with winjets experience a small amount of "looseness/play" with the projectors?

Yeah, seems to wobble a bit for many other headlights as well, but that's fine.
Aslong as the alignment of the beam doesn't mess up while your driving you should be fine. retrofitted some projectors on mine since I hated the ones that came with it and holds well, wobbles a bit but sits properly in there without play while driving

Haha, I misunderstood the question.

If you're talking about loose as in "bouncy," they're no bouncier than stock. The cutoff is just a LOT sharper, so it looks like they are looser, but you'll get used to it.

Bouncy....well its the projector itself that seems to have play. If i grasp the back of the projector and wiggle it or shake the whole light assembly, the projector moves a bit and makes a light clunk noise like something might be loose.

I played with the driver side light a bit. It does the same thing. Since the movement is so minimal I'm going to assume its normal and I am just too anal. I'll check the stock lights when I pull them out.

If you notice shake in the project's cutoff, then that is wrong. IE you're driving on a bumpy road and your cutoff moves up and down independent of your travel.

you can usually prevent shake in the cutoff by tightening the projector. not sure how it works on the winjet, speaking from experience with other retrofits

This is very common with spyder aftermarket lights on many platforms too, one easy solution is to apply 3m weatherstripping to the bottom of the lights. (The 3m weatherstripping comes in a 8' roll for around $30.00 with tape already applied to one side.) Stick it to either the bottom of the bumper or the bottom of the light, this will stiffen up the lights, and dampen any vibrations. The weatherstripping can be found at any auto parts store. A lot of times it is due to the plastic housing, cheaper/less plastic, ect.

^^ It sounds like it's the actual projector inside the housing that is loose, not the whole housing bouncing around in the car?

Bingo! Not very loose but there is slight movement.

Just got mine earlier this week and I'm having the same issue on the passenger side headlight. My beam of light bounces up and down everytime I hit a bump or crack on the road. Anyone know if this is covered under Winjet's warranty?

Crap. Guess I better hold off on installing mine until I figure out how to tighten the projector. I don't want bouncy lights!
