I still want to see some pics of this beast before I judge it, but I think I'm satisfied with the design. Job well done Toyota!

Ew... Red leather

Sorry if this has already been answered, but I skipped over a bunch of pages. someone was asking about the ring on the shift lever below the shift knob on the manual version. If it's anything like the 6 speed on the Tiburon, it's probably a reverse lockout mechanism (you have to pull up on that ring to get into reverse.) Which means that reverse is probably next to 6th gear instead of 1st.

How did I get emailed about this post when I'm not subscribed?

Here's the email,

"Dear FT86club member,

In case you missed this overnight, here are scanned images of what appears to the production FT-86 / FR-S design, from a Modellista brochure!

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2054

Modellista is Toyota's very own in-house tuning arm, so these are likely the first images of the production model. Check out the images inside the link. Exciting day for FT-86 fans!"

No kidding! I know about these already because I posted them an hour earlier in another thread.

1. Anyhow, the chrome body side molding has got to go!

2. Doubt we'll see anything with the red stuff in the interior in the US. Scion may have accessories available

3. The aero kit isn't bad, but "to each his own" or however that saying goes.

4. Don't like the tail lights at all. They should've stayed with a similar design as the concepts.

both full interior pics show manual transmission shifters, the close up of the automatic is just that, a close up of the automatic shifter...

Pending terrible weight and price specs, I'd say Toyota/Subaru knocked it out of the park and I finally have a worthy successor for my Celica GT.

It took the better part of 13 years for them to do it but Toyota will finally have a 2-dr coupe worth buying.

I'm gonna say its there to be easily removable and do you can put gauges in
Cause I hate red interiors? Sorry, I hate tan interiors too I like red stitching on black interiors though

That spot is for the radio. There is no radio in the car pictured.

I like the white center tachometer. Reminds me of the LF-A also.

It's not an LF-A. It looks ugly in both IMO and completely breaks up the look of the cluster. If it comes out white then I'm sure a black replacement version will be on the market within a month or so.

Didn't say was an LF-A. I like the white in general, even if it was the only car on the planet with that color tach. On the track, the tach is all you pay attention to anyway.
