That looks like a factory vs aftermarket, be it mishimoto or Full blown.

It wasn't disclosed in the blog post, but Eric told me personally as he knew I had one and thought it would be relevant to my decision. Someone donated a damaged Mishimoto rad to him for the analysis.

It's the 27mm Denso Motorsports core used in the Verus rad compared to a Mishimoto core that's used in their radiator for this platform.

That's ok, I figured it was just a chat that you guys had personally. I was overheating my OEM radiator at my first track day back after my replacement motor and installing my jdl kit and was debating on going with the mishimoto since I knew you had one. But now that I know that, I'm stuck on Verus' option or the Jackson Racing one.

The jackson racing one uses a bigger 31mm CSF core with "B tubing" technology (whatever that means). The only other difference is verus comes with those nice fans and the price.

I watched that whole 1 hour video.... Turbo path interests me, but that install does not. I'm think I'm gonna stick to centrifugal supercharger lol

Most centrifugal SC kits take the same amount of time (~8 hours if you DIY) to install as my turbo kit. Nothing a turbo install is more complex or difficult.

That's a foolish reason not to go turbo and rob yourself of the fun (usable torque) and flexibility of a turbo.

I guess..I mean, ...I'm still open for ideas obviously I don't have $7K lying around to finalize my decision just yet. Like I said, turbo interests me. But it also scares me too, since its not linear power delivery and I'm also a stupid driver.

I think part of my apprehension is that whenever I hear "turbo" I also immediately think "rebuilt motor" ....or else....

Look at the supercharger comparison graph I edited based off a youtuber's turbo dyno results....

Can you build a more linear turbo curve? lol what psi are you running, apparently 5.8 is the lowest setting.

don't waste your time with a supercharger. At least the kits out there currently are no where near as efficient as the turbos we're running. We both have GTX2860r.

I had a c38 kraftwerks kit and that thing stands ZERO chance against the JDL kit. Car drives better, smoother, and best of all more power with less PSI. There's something called "compressor efficiency" and you should research what I mean. Comparing compressor maps to the C38 and GTX2860r it was mind numbing because i felt stupid I wasted so much time with that kit.

Also you want a linear torque curve? It doesn't get more linear than that...... that's his dyno graph too.

Way ahead of ya! Have already begun reading up on these new things.

- ball bearing vs journal bearing
- what is a wastegate
- blow off valve?
- 3" downpipe or 2.5"?
- vent to atmosphere or recirculation
- "standard v2" or "no cut" charge pipe routing
- ceramic vs fiberglass wrap hot pipe

- minimum injector size for turbo

- break in time for turbo

Yeah bro... I'm sold..

I've just binge watched 20 videos... People say "once you hit 260whp, you're going to want more after a while. trust me" so I think ultimately I'll be more happy when I start to want more power, all I need to do is build the internals and crank up the boost.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread. Carry on with this gorgeous build!

Free weekend time has been hard to come by, but the hot parts are wrapped with Heatshield Products Inferno Wrap

and the engine is back in!

Going to start reconnecting everything tomorrow and hopefully start putting the turbo kit back on!
