Honestly, considering the FR-S/BR-Z costs about $30,000+ once you add in tax and license and such, it really isn't priced to be a "young" person's car. It may look hot, but it's not exactly in the far more affordable Focus/Forte/Civic/Jetta/Corolla price range.

Plus--it's your money, get what you want. Better to buy a hot car and drive something that feels as young as you do... then do something else that might get you in actual trouble with a spouse.

And it's a seriously fun car to drive--and Subaru's are safe and run forever, so it's actually a prudent choice in the long run.
Yep. It's a little above the "young person" range. Those folks will go for the tC or maybe the iQ.

Boring cars suck. I've never owned a 4 door vehicle and I have no desire to. I put an infant seat in my MX-3!

I'm not going overboard with mods, which I think shows wisdom of my age. I plan to keep this car until I can't get in/out of it anymore! Cheers to the 40+ers out there. I hope to meet some of you on the road. See ya on the twisties.
Could not agree more. I felt like I was driving a big, more powerful Miata....with a roof!

40+ My wife refers to the FRS as my geriatric crotch-rocket. She's just happy that I don't ride a motor cycle!

I'm turning 42 in August and this car is far from a mid life crisis decision. We picked up our Whiteout FRS on 6/12/12 and today the quest for STX class autocross perfection has begun! 500 miles of break in left and then, GAME ON!

45 here.
Used to driving sports cars and momentum cars, I have had a few: Fiero 2M4, 85 Corolla GTS AE86, 99 Miata, 92 turbo Miata and recently an RX-8.

Call it my mid-life crisis car if you will and maybe I am having a crisis as I am getting rid of a 6-month Genesis 2.0T to get the FR-S.
Life is too short to not have fun doing it.

My Firestorm MT arrived at the dealer today and expecting to get it Friday!!

40 here, and my wife jokes I'm the youngest in the family. We have a 3 year old daughter for reference. She knows I'll never grow up lol! She also said its a midlife crisis car for me as well...which contradicts her other argument, but I'm not saying anything. You learn a few things after 20 years in a relationship.

My mom was one of the first 86, and shes had no problems with people saying anything to her. They actually brought it to her at work as a surprise and a lot of people her age or older were pretty jealous. It's really too expensive to be a young persons car for most people. Didn't stop me from ordering another though.

You're not that 'spring-chicken' anymore, (neither am i ) -- so i would vote for AT. You will love the combinations available.
its like your FR-S has several personalities.... Im still learning them all !

I'm 26 and I think I a lot of "kids" will pass this up for more powerful options like the Gen Coupe and V6 TP Mustang. Some of us just don't appreciate the engineering that went into this car.

40 in December. I've considered the S2000, Mazdaspeed Miata, and RX-8. It'll be a second car, whatever I end up getting. I see some mods in the future if I get one, so the FR-S is at the top of the list due to it's lower entry point.
