Official 12' Evo X Owner now :)
My friends say I have car A.D.D....well it struck!
I did Really Enjoy the 1st 86 Exp , it was like no other for sure!! I will always remember it all for the rest of my Life no joke I did 7 Autocross events w/ the FR-S and took 1st the last 5 events with it = 3rd Place overall for the year! Car w/ RS3 stuck like no other, very impressive stock suspension/handling car! However I miss Power and Boost..I enjoyed the cheaper Insurance/ cheap car payment. This was the 1st car I did an open drift session, car was very balanced and predictable , was a Blast to throw sideways and attempt to carry the Drift. I am glad to have owned the FR-S and def opened many eyes at the track, including myself to be soo competitive w/ a pretty stock car besides tires. Last few events out of 50-75 cars I found myself 1/2 in the pack or top 1/4. But was ready to get back to a Boosted car! I have owned 02' WRX, 04 STi, 08 STi Hatch, 11' STi Sedan, along with the twin turbo of 335 and a 135i BMW. I contacted my friend at Appleway who I purchased the FR-S through and took a test drive....SOLD! It was loaded w/ HIDs, Aero pkg, 710 watt RockFord Audio w/ sub, Keyless access, and more! I will say, HOLY FAST STEERING!! Love the aggressive front and oem FMIC setup. If you get a chance, steering of the EVO will floor you How Light/Fast it is..LOVE the OEM Recaro seats as prior Subaru's I would slide in seats racing. I do notice the Evo spools around 3500rpm, Much more Lowend TQ from Subaru's I have owned too. Nice change of pace and I look fwd to 2013 Race Season Traction won't be a problem w/ the S-AWC system, it does Great! These cars are the Poor Man's GTR, easily can +400whp w/ minor mods w/. turbo swap. Also here in the NW we get snow, I can drive it all year and not have to store it. Just thought I would share and it's cool to see the Aftermarket support of the FR-S EXPLODE !! I def will cont to follow the forum and what's to come for the FR-S! This is a great forum! Happy Friday , I have 3 day weekend ahead :happy0180: **I just need to sell my wheels now fr the FR-S**

Sad to see you sold the FR-S, but nice choice with the X! When I bought my car, the final choice came down to the FR-S, Evo X GSR, and Cayman S. I went with the FR-S for a number of reasons, but the Evo X GSR was right up there among the most fun cars I've driven. It's definitely more of a "driver's car" than my old STI hatch.
Anyway congrats and give us some updates on how you're enjoying the X. |

I think the FR-S is more fun at lower speeds/around town than the Evo X. Comparably, the Evo is bigger/heavier with more body roll and a less responsive engine down low. But if/when/where you get the chance to push the Evo, it is crazy fast and grippy and satisfying. I agree with your analysis of STI vs Evo in that the STI does have more low end torque (likely due to the fact it's a 2.5L), and the STI seats are a poor shape for keeping you in place vs. the Recaros.
But I'm glad to see people still buying the Evo because I hope Mitsubishi realizes there is still a demand for affordable performance cars and they do not abandon their sports/rally car heritage. Congrats.

Congrats! This is first story I have come across where someone has parted with their FR-S/BRZ and went to an EVO
I seen and heard of countless scenarios of guys coming from EVO to FR-S/BRZ, so this is definitely interesting! Enjoy! Nice EVO

Grats on the Evo! Just curious though, why not turbo the FRS? Im guessing you want warranty protection, but the thought of a 2700 lb car boosted into the mid to high 300hp range would be mental compared to an Evo...just my two cents.

Evo X
Only the MR version is the Dual clutch w/ paddles. GSR is a 5spd.
Loving it so far! Def set for winter, luckily I had low pro 18" Blizzaks from BMW and prior STi I had still in great condition!

Evo X
Ralliart isn't an Evolution, but yeah a 6-speed Twin-Clutch Sportronic® Shift Transmission (TC-SST).

Congrats man, im actually about to pick up a MR touring as a DD I had a GSR a while back and loved it, had a bunch of mods on it. FR-S will become my track only toy and the Evo will be my DD.
Nice color btw, i love how the black has some gold flakes in the sun.
