100% all that. Of course, a reboot could fix it as well at least temporarily, it just depends.

Ultimately I agree we may be past the point of no return.

If true, I will be a sad puppy for quite some time. Hope springs eternal.

When software starts falling behind too far it's almost impossible to get it updated without some major work. Nobody wants to lose data/history so instead of risking regular updates they just stop updating. That seems to be where we are now. Unfortunately, when you stop updating you also lose support. When you start having operational errors like we're currently experiencing then you're on your own because you aren't up to date.

When I say admins I mean the forum owner(s)

Absolutely, a major overall usually goes hand in hand with losing some data, especially photos. But, without doing anything you could lose it all.

There really is no choice, To do nothing is a death sentence.

At this point I'm only checking this subforum for any info about the outage getting fixed. Not even viewing the rest of the forum. Hoping for a fix soon

It's easy enough to check the other subforums for new messages off the main All forum page at least on a full browser.

I hit it too, but it doesn't work. Probably for a month now.

I want to say something similar happened over at Acurazine. After they updated all the stickied threads links broke. Pretty much impossible to find older resources that are still working.

I moved the one forum I own/manage to VbCloud where they host it and deal with it.

It's easier than trying to manage it otherwise, albeit more expensive.

If that's a middle ground between this and what I've seen elsewhere then that does sound more interesting. One of the car forums I used to frequent was sold to Vertical Scope and they have effectively killed it with their overbearing control of everything on the forum. It looks awful now and they started banning moderators for speaking out against them. If this site goes that way then it's effectively dead then too.
