It will be very interesting what the diagnosis was. Hopefully its a quick and easy resolution!

Normally the service representatives have access to the tech notes when the techs are working on your car. Ask him that you want to see them just to know what's going on.

After not getting a response to my email and no call on Friday, I called my service advisor today.

He informed me the parts are backordered and have an ETA on the computer for March 11th. A full month to order two parts? That just sounds insane to me. 3 month old stock car is now sitting waiting for parts for a month.

I asked him again what was wrong with the car and he just said "well the part is called valve something." I asked him for the part numbers:

SU003-05180 (Driver side exhaust cam gear)
#13080 in this diagram

and

SU003-06052 (Camshaft timing oil control valve)
#15330 in this diagram

Actually wouldn't this potentially be caused by overfilling the oil?

He asked if I needed a car, I declined. I have an excuse to go back to daily driving this again now.

Take the rental and park it in the drive. Trust me when it's costing the dealer things move quicker.

Hey I'm glad you got some info from you service adviser. But Cam Gear? I wonder if that malfunction was driving the valve into the pistons.
