It also outperformed MMO and was much cheaper. |

Many people report getting their HPFP changed at the dealer, and the crickets go away. Only for them to come back again within ~1,000 miles or less. And at least in Toyota's catalog, there is a new part number meaning the new pump was changed/upgraded in some way.
I'm on my 3rd tank with TC-W3 and I'm convinced. The silence is priceless. Doesn't hurt that the 2-stroke oil is extremely cheap.

MMO is a cleaner/solvent and meant to clean oil sludge in a motor. Not going to help in the fuel system.
MMO as well as Lucas, Seafoam, and most of the crap on the chemical wall of your local autoparts store are snake oil. Read the MSDS of the products and do some studying. 2 cycle oil is specifically designed for fuel, though it does say that one of the byproducts of breaking it down (i.e. burning it) is sulphur oxides. COuld be bad for the catalysts because of this, but at this low concentration, I dunno. One would have to run 2 cars using the same fuel but one with the 2 cycle oil and pull the cats for inspection at a lab. |

No. If anything, it makes the exhaust cleaner. I've noticed LESS carbon buildup on the tips of my Perrin catback exhaust after adding TCW3.
There is the occasional smell, but it's probably because I'm using cheap Walmart TCW3. Still rated that same so it should be fine. It just has a funky smell (like eggs). |

That's the cat converter. They will occasionally emit sulfur. This is normal on catted cars and has nothing to do with TCW3.
On another note, I've noticed neither an increase or decrease in performance or economy and the crickets remain, albeit reduced. I'm skipping the TCW3 on the next couple fill up to see how it changes things. My Econoline though, loves this stuff. It's dramatically better.

Any long term reviews on adding TC-W3? Issues?

Welp, after my last post about having the crickets go away nearly entirely by using TCW3, they're back. Not as bad as before, but definitely audible from the interior.
Anyone get any resistance from the dealerships when seeking warranty service for the HPFP? Can I just roll in there and say, "I got crickets bro" and they'll take care of it without question? |

People have noted crickets coming back though, so keep that in mind. And others have reported it going away around 15-20k.

Crickets showed up before 2000miles. At 5, 500 I went e85 turbo. 9500 miles crickets are gone. Same pump.

I took my car in and said, "Hey... ummm....chirping in the engine bay?" (two weeks after I bought car) and they even gave me a loaner vehicle to drive home in since they said it'd be by "End of day". No push back. I am at 16000 now and I am just barely gettin the chirp back so I am looking into a cap full of 2-stroke. But I am going to try some of the Strawberry sented stuff they make for dirt bikes.
Just seemed like it would fix the smell issues some people report.

Many have been using this for years on other cars and I have not heard of any ill effects, but time will tell. I have been using from day one after I brought the car home and heard all the racket from the engine. Also used in the past on my I30. For me, 3oz for a full tank of gas seems to keep the engine quiet and no significant cricket sound. Of note, was out of the area and did not have the TCW3 to add, so used non-ethanol 91 octane to fill up since many say it's the ethanol that causes the crickets. Guess what, I heard crickets!! So back to the TCW3. |
