Not seeing how the OFH could be considered a copy of the Borla header.

Not even close.

I really don't know. I can tell you that the OEM EL headers have them and that JDL UEL headers have them but others such as HKS and Revworks do not. When you ask them why they dont they say its not necessary. I have heard other forum members with experience say that they would be useful in turbo applications or perhaps long autocross / track days when they can get really hot and their is a lot of engine action. ...who knows.

The engine moves around a bit so the flex joints help to dissipate some of jerking traveling through the engine block into the headers by flexing. It can help to relieve some of the stress and prevent the header from cracking. However, I believe that some of these after market headers use quality stainless steel materials. I dont know what the OEM header is made of but if its not made of the same quality part then I can understand why they would put flex joints in there.

I wonder if flex joints could, at some point in the lifetime of the header, be a vulnerable/brittle spot. If they do help to dissipate movement then they will be flexing. They are welded into the headers tubing so those welds could crack or the flex joints themselves could crack. who knows...

My current exhaust setup is FA20Club Equal Length Catted Header (coated), Perrin Overpipe, Nameless Performance Front Pipe with Catalytic converter and Helmholtz Resonator, Stock Catback exhaust , Perrin Tips, Datalogging of current setup at bottom
Running OFT Stage 2 EL header Gas 1.54 which performs extremely well, smoother, quieter (makes me question selling the Perrin CBE), quicker.
Recently removed and sold to "DaBRZ" a Perrin Catback exhaust, it was too loud with this header.
"Neutron256" has my Perrin Catted Front Pipe that displayed a drone with this header.
With this system in mind, will I see gains and/or be better off with your UEL header?
How much louder or differently will it sound?
I'm considering a purchase from FA20club for their uncatted header pipe, replacing my FA20club catted header pipe. Is your UEL header a better option?

Thank you for your products.

Those headers looks good aesthetically! But time will tell if those welds will last. Lots of joints or what they call elbows. Are these mandrel bent or crush bent? Are those flanges stainless steel?

Am interested

Shiv stated that the flanges were mild steel because it does better with thermal expansion.

That is correct. It also saves a bit on complement cost which can then be put into more useful areas of construction.

And yes all the tubing is mandrel bent 304 stainless steel. No crush bends.

You won't have to spend 1k on the exhaust if you buy used If anyone spends anything over 2 grand on this car on just exhaust mods. . . not a good idea. Headers though, I can see 800 or so on a quality piece just cause they are pretty difficult to fit properly and are pretty much the most important piece of the exhaust.

Who cares? The differences between the Revworks, JDL, OF and Borla UEL headers is mostly in the quality of the construction, materials, flex joints, collector and warranty. They all look about the same. They all seem to have good shop support. OF being unknown at this point but Shiv generally has a decent rep. He's been around forever compared to alot of the jokers that claim to be tuners on this forum. Shiv tuned my 02' wrx back in the day and it was solid. Had his 321 uppipe on that car for 9 years and when I took it off, it still looked new.

You said you had a 321 uppipe on your subi for years and it looked great? Did Shiv sell that to you?

Careful, he gets defensive over the Borla UEL and when people talk about how shitty it is. When fisher price welds your collectors, would you expect people to say nice things about it?
