Yes heard of that before, loose bolts, washer dropped down near knock sensor, ect. even crook engine bearings showing up as knock, knock sensor is essentially a microphone and ecu listens for specific frequency's and via some weird algorithm decides it knock.

unfortunately i am noob with tune.
maybe @Shiv@Openflash or you can fix this?
i just dont want to have problem in future even though ti's minor knock there.

Just curious. I'll be at Watkins Glen soon for an HPD event. I have an OFH and I'm running the 93 octane Stage II tune. They have gas at the track (100 octane unleaded) but it's outrageously priced. But I was wondering if putting 3-4 gallons in the tank to top off my normal 93 octane gas would help to ensure less knock during hard running? Anybody have any experience with this? Is it worth it? Will it make any difference?

Have you tried the 91 stage 2 tune? Sacrifices 3-4 hp but you won't knock.

I haven't actually. Not yet. But I'll likely go back to the 91 octane tune after Watkins. I was just wondering if putting some higher octane fuel in the tank would eliminate it. Especially considering the car will be running hard for two days.

Has anyone tried both the 91 and 93 UEL stage 2 ROMs? Is there a feel-able difference between the two?

I prefer to stick with 91 ROM and run 93 gas to keep a healthy motor, but if it's worth it I'll switch.

No one is going to answer these questions. Fuel varies from pump to pump. Shiv has already given you the ability to log, do this or stick to 91.

Stick to 91 if it gives you more peace of mind (and margin for fuel Q) and instead use your focus on your driving for making good use of every single less_likely _to_knock pony (if appropriate, obviously).

Or switch to E85, no knock...

I've done basically this, except in CA we run 91 octane normally. So at the track days I have added enough 100octane to bring my fuel up to about 93-94 octane and just run the 91 octane tune. My IAM has been known to drop occasionally while on some 91 octane fuels (which is an indication of some knock), so I blend in the 100 octane as some insurance and while on the track I experienced no knock (i.e., no IAM drop). I don't think you will feel any "added power" as a result, but you will not suffer from ignition being dialed back "subtracted power" as a result.

always worth a tank of good fuel if going for a track day or at least a bottle of octane booster.

but a tank of good fuel is the better option.

I have a few questions about the tablet:

My car is my DD, is this a safe way to make the car faster and more fun? I'd like to get a lot of longevity out of this car.

How long is this killer sale lasting?

If/when I get a UEL header, are there different tunes for catted and carless options?

Sorry if these are stupid questions.

Those questions aren't stupid at all. Here goes:

The OFT will not effect the longevity of your engine assuming you run the appropriate supplied OTS maps and not something custom tuned by a strangely dressed man who hangs out in front of TGI Fridays.

I don't know how long the sale will last. Best to email sales@openflashperformance.com and ask them. Once stock runs low, the sale ends

Lastly, for catless headers the Stg2 tune (UEL or EL) are recommended. For catted headers, the Stg1 tunes (UEL or EL) are the ones to use.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Cheers,
Shiv

Its definitely worth it. I had the same concerns you did and literally every person I asked said go for it. I finally did and I only wish I did it sooner. The car is all around more responsive, powerful, and fun to drive. My gas mileage seems better @ 32/33 hwy when I don't beat on it. I'm currently on the stage 2 catless UEL tune 91 oct running 93 gas.
