Just out of curiosity how much does a R34 GTR run to import legally? and how do you get around the whole crash rating thing to get them legal where the Feds won't crush them?

P.S. I love your Lightning Red BRZ on CCWs!

"My Other Car is a JDM GTR.."

There's no getting around crash testing. To bring them here, you do have to be an registered importer, have a bond, paper work, inspections, the works. The r34 gtr will average about 100k - again, feel free to just email me

And thanks! At first I was meh about the brz. I jumped out of a s2000 into this and right away notice how much it lacked power. But the stability of it after we did some suspension work to it has me content for now

Until someone is willing to buy at least two of the same chassis for crash testing purposes, these can't be federal legal, not only state legal. You may get it to pass state and obtain a title for the car doesn't mean the Feds wouldn't be able to confiscate them at their will. A few years ago the Feds were cracking down on these cars hardcore and they gave you a couple options, one having the car crushed or have it exported. I've looked into importing them a couple years ago but spending that kind of money then one day the car would be gone. Eh, I'll pass.

As a country to source imports, England can get ridiculously cheap sometimes! Then again depends on what you're looking for. Didn't they get the T34 too?

Glad the E-lawyers arent trolling you.

Both cars look great. Nice job with the imports, turns out the grass is always greener on the other side.

This and This.

Even if you can somehow fool your local DMV into registering the car, that doesn't mean it's considered legal by NHTSA and the EPA. I'm going to cry a little when the Feds crush these cars...

An old friend of mine watched an R34 get crushed for this very reason. The owner had spent quite a bit getting it stateside. And mods. And then the feds knocked on his door, and didn't give a damn that he had a state tag for it...
