You totally said for the Z, and I spaced that as I was writing. Sorry. I think I am going to order a set now too.

I found many options by googling "4300K LED H11" or "4300K LED 9005"

There were also other Kelvin ratings if you want a yellower color (lower number that 4300) or if you want a bluer color (5000K and higher)

Prices are all over the map, and I am not sure what you want to spend.

I hope this is useful info...

I have HID in my high beams. I did this because I literally live in the middle of now where. There are lots of deer and almost no traffic. They illuminate the whole area very well. Of course I switch to low beam (which I have left stock) when I see another cars headlights in the distance. I am courteous and do not get flashed.
You want as close to 5777K (temperature of the Sun) as you can. My bugeye WRX had AMG HID retro fits with 6000K it was like daylight. Proper colors reflect back when you are driving and they aren't too blue.

I miss my baby. I cry a little sometimes. The BRZ is better overall, but I still miss her. Especially in the rain/snow.

The thought of going FI just doesn't appeal to me anymore. It seems like an endless bunch of Gremlins, for some. Pass...

I think its more when you start chasing extra power from it. Have some install it who knows, do your research, and just run a conservative tune and its all good i feel.

You are correct. The sun is that Kelvin color. I have 6000K HID. OEM HID generally are lower in kelvin rating though, 4300k and lower. I have read that even though the Sun is 5800K, that 4800K is the best for headlights, though they didn't give a specific reason. I have had a few cars with HID and done a few retrofits. I also know that everyone's eyes are slightly different and individually we prefer different colors. Really there is no one size fits.

Additionally the shape of the reflector housing can affect the way a retro fit kit looks.

Also, 8% of men are color blind. This will change what like K rating they like.

Blue Light affects sleep. It will cause a rise in awareness, tons of info online if you google. I feel that While driving at night using the HID 6000K, It slightly changes the color of the signs and surroundings causing me to be more awake. Maybe it is all in my head!

You're probably correct, Finch. I am still seeing a lot of weird, somewhat minor issues, with well known kits though.

I'm happy with the car the way it is TBH. My only real purpose to modding the car is to get back to turning some wrenches again. I think I will just do some bolts on for now and focus on weight loss. (Not me, the car )

I thought 4300K gives better contrast cuz it's not as white.

I had 5000K Polarg halogen bulbs before for inner high beams and the color seemed too white for good visibility vs the 4300K stock Hella Bi-Xenon HIDs I had, these were all on my old GTI (I re-programmed them into Euro mode to have them all turn on for high beams).

The BRZ Bi-Xenon high beams suck ass in comparison.

I can't disagree. There is always little shit that goes wrong when modding anything. Even with the installs its never perfect even with the most thorough kits out there

People just don't get the "correct" kit for their car. It is available though.

White LED are full spectrum, yes they have a peak light frequency, but they give off a wide range.

Colored LED are very narrow spectrum.
Sorry. Got busy at work and came home to a pet alert. Just got home from the vet. Rosco took a nasty whack to the eye. He'll be fine.

Anyhoo, looks like you guys discussed it. I'll consider myself schooled. Leo's a subject matter expert.
