i got into an argument with my ex once over the car equaling the suit...meaning if you step out of honda civic in a suit it just don't like right and you are probably overdressed and aren't get paid enough to wear it otherwise you would be driving a lexus or audi or something luxurious...she got pissed off at my logic

we got into this conversation because there were these two clowns at my previous workplace that got hired and both wore suits everyday but they worked in a call center and one of them drove a old ass buick...know your worth

I'm guessing they subscribed to the "dress for the job you want, not the one you have" idea.

This is called common sense. You don't wear brown shoes with a dark grey suit.

But your suit doesn't cost 20,000$. So use what you have. I've never worn a suit. So why would I base all my modifications on if I may look slightly less good, for 10 seconds, that one time you wear a suit. Why so worried about what everyone thinks about you?

I set the dress code rules. If I decide I want to wear a clown suit, face paint and a wig I just issue a policy stating everybody must wear a clown suit, face paint and a wig.

Cuz once you have common sense you wouldn't need to worry at all what others will think of you. It's like the golden ratio it's just right. This applies to most things.

BTW I only have one suit and it was cheap like 200 bucks on sale. Had it for 10 years and I only wear it for special occasions and job interviews. I gotta say suit pants are super comfy. Just need good cutting.

What you are thinking is the hypebeast hipster. I don't think that exists in my generation lol (I'm gen X).

Or you can just not worry about what people think anyways. Why should I "learn"to do things a certain way so people don't judge me? If you want to put on your sheep costume to fit in with everyone else that's your deal. I'll keep doing things my way

Did someone judged your car or something and you didn't like?

Man so sensitive!

I've been judged by everyone side I was 5. Many people have had a problem with the things I like, the way my hair is, the way I dress, the way my car looks, my choice of hobbies... I stopped caring a long time ago. If you think I look silly in my tripp pants driving my race car on the street, that is your prerogative. But I'm gonna keep wearing the clothes I think look good and keep making my car the way I want it. Life is too short to have other people decide what you can and cannot like/do
