Trading FRS for BRZ
A few weeks back, I was told my BRZ would not be coming in until November so I bought a FRS. Well the BRZ came in today and I went to have a look. I was not planning on making a change because I really like my FRS. But I think I have been won over. Here's why:
1. Upgrading the felt seats to the leather/alcantra. 2. Upgrading the Fischer-Price climate knobs to toggle switches. 3. Upgrading to radio with nav. 4. Upgrading to push button start. 5. Upgrading to heated seats. I also get the rear spoiler, which I can honestly live without. I will miss the FRS floor mats, the white bit on the tach and the piano black trim pieces. Of course I can only do this if I can sell the FRS and not take a total bath because....I got either keyed or swiped in a parking lot this weekend |

You should hold out for the Corinthian leather seats...

Why not keep your FR-S until 2014 model comes out so that you don't need to deal with the initial problems 2013 model has? Unless the car being the first year model is important to you.

Any trade will be a lost of ~3k to dealer for their resale, plus you pay another new tax ~2.9k for new BRZ. I would enjoy the frs for few years and trade in for the special edition STI or any improved FRS special version in later year.

sounds like a dumb idea to me unless you can make your money back. At least you can do an in and out on the car at the dealer to save some $ on tax.
Oh and there is no leather in any Subaru car, stop calling it that. |

Lose $3000+ for a slightly better interior. Excellent reasoning.

This would be a really stupid financial move. The $5K to $6k you'll end up spending to trade in the car and buy the more expensive one will go a long way for upgrades, like Don's turbo kit. If the BRZ upgrades are worth $5K to you, go for it, but they're not to me.

See and this is why I talk things out. Nothing like a perfectly good flaming to stop me from doing something stupid.
