To be honest I wasn't expecting more than 300-350bhp out of this little beasty (which I would have been quite happy with).

Assuming everything ends in tears around the 500bhp mark on the stock internals, how much extra juice can typically be squeezed out of an engine by going fully forged? Would 600-650bhp be a reasonable underpants soiling, squeeling like a schoolgirl figure?

I'm not stopping at 650!

Why not? At that power level it comes down to your expected longevity of the engine. If you're ok with it only lasting a race weekend it's probably doable. If you're ok with it only lasting 2-3 races, imo it's almost certainly doable. If you want to run it back and forth to work, making 1000hp for a few years, then I have my doubts.

Exactly.

My guess, like many here, is I am anxiously waiting on the sidelines to see what is going to take beyond the turbo and tune, if anything, to give me about 350whp WiTH longevity, as this is my daily driver.

I understand you are planning to lower compression with this build. Once you guys get to know the engine better will you be offering shortblock/longblock components? I'm assuming it will be needed past the 400 package or maybe even for it if you use 93.

Im excited to hear one of these cars cammed .

Also isnt 10.5:1 a bit high as far as compression goes? I see most turbo motors around 8.5:1, any more details on that? Thanks! Love the progress so far.

Na, most guys with built F20-F22's run that kind of compression, and they are running 800+who.

I think 10.5 compression is perfect for a big boost build. 10.5 is the new 9.0.

If this were an EJ motor, the crank would have seized in its bearings from lack of oil, the ring lands would have said goodbye in spectacular fashion, and the connecting rods would have started looking like limp pasta. But it's still running.

I think Toyota and Subaru have been holding back with this engine.
This post sums up most things I have believed about Subaru engines

This effort with the FA20 is making all the turbo DOHC EJs look like poorly designed junk - like really!! Those EJ DOHCs cant even hold a fraction of the amount of cylinder pressure compared to the FA20 without pooping themselves majorly

Amazing!

I've seen lots of your dyno plots, but never 8K rpm+... why, if you claim going that red?

Also, do you see any sense in revving N\A setup that high? AFAIK you offer raising them ~7,5K and not further. Or that's beneficial only for FI guys?

could you comment pls?

This car doesn't make enough power worth reving past 7800 NA.

Turbo we rev'ed it to 8500rpms

On the street 9k.

I really rather not break the motor.

Hrmm I wonder if we can make 500whp on a stock motor...

Can you explain how adding this turbo kit and the exhaust layout works? If you wanted to do an exhaust before the turbo kit what parts would you want to buy, I understand this exhaust is comprised of 5 separate parts.
