This isn't new news. Also, it's just Tada spouting more BS.

I know it's not happening. Sad!
And the engine (6 cylinder) is also already available with manuals.

Might be best to stick with a BMW M wheel and track display and pop a Toyota branded airbag on it. It looks clean and elegant but functional. Definitely dig the revised center console over the standard BMW blandness. Not sure what's up with that multi piece canopy over the cluster or the seemingly random button arrangement by the left knee.

This definitely has me reconsidering a Cayman S as my next car purchase. Just build it already, Toyota!

Cayman S is a fantastic car but the price on them has just gone insane.

Def start looking at Caymans. Fall 2019 is a unofficial sale/production date. The markups on these will be stupid, as you'd expect. If it's 70K to start, it'll be 90-100KK before a customer ever gets in one.

Yeah, I figure. I can wait for the hype to die down. I didn't get my FR-S until May 2013.

Lucky for me, I like the looks of the previous body style better than the latest refresh, especially the tail. When the time comes, maybe I can find an unused or low mileage 2017 at a discount.

Gotta love how they removed the manual parking/emergency brake to make room for cup holders, on a sports car.

Insane? Base price was $58,900 in 2006. Price price now is $67,700. I wouldn't pay that much for a 4 cylinder, but it's price increase has been less than $1000/year.

Don't most modern cars have electronic e-brakes these days? I'm pretty sure the mustang and Camaro don't have manual e-brakes and I know the new 3 series won't either. I'm not sure if this is true but I heard when the SW20 was released in North America one of the biggest complaints was that the car had no cup holders.

^yeah, and those jackasses can just buy something else if that's their complaint with a minimalist sports car.

You are quite right. Most cars no longer have manual e-brakes, which is beyond retarded IMO. Let's eliminate one of the simplest systems (and only failsafe) that the car has, just to make room for cup holders. That's basically what it's all about. Porsche got rid of them. Latest Honda Civic and Accord now have electronic. Etc etc...
