He kicked me off his page for asking for at least one example. He’s a, “driving instructor”.
“It’s reasonable to think a 200bhp FR-S will get around TMP in 1:20...”

I think 1:20s are attainable without FI. If you don't think so, you're limiting yourself mentally.

Today I managed a 1:21.068 according to Track Addict. I understand smartphone apps aren't the most accurate, but I had quite a few consistent 1:22s. Coincidentally my GoPro decided not to work for those laps :/

My setup from a couple pages back:

Stock rear brakes with hp+ pads rear
Radium master cylinder brace
Tein street flex coilovers
JR Oil cooler
-3.2f/-2.2r camber, slight toe in
Front dampers 11 clicks
Rear dampers 14 clicks

Only change being a fresh set of RE-71Rs, 245/40/17s in place of the hand-me-down Toyos.

I know my way around TMP pretty well but by no means think of myself as an advanced driver. There's still time on the table.

With proper aero and perhaps better coilovers I can see teens being within reach.

Agreed, high 1:20s definitely do able but need to be very perfect. The problem with TMP is that the track is getting worse each year so I'm not sure how that much that plays into bests for each car platform.

Have you seen some of the back and forth I've had with him? I really don't know what to say.

I guess the quantifier for ol’ Drewpy back there is his definition of the word, “major”.

Its silly. I don't know Drew personally but like anything on the internet (even what I say), take everything with a grain of salt.

Nonetheless, back on topic, I'm aiming to chase down Ramesh's 1:19.4xx in a stock S2000 except square tires and alignment. I feel that is doable given that I was old alignment and staggered and hit 1:24.110 with a VERY dirty run.

At OTA, I drifted away a 1:22 at least thanks to me never checking my tire pressures so I feel a 1:20 is doable for sure. 1:19 will require me to be perfect.

Drew's logic seems to be that because an S2000 ran a 1:19, that an 86 "with no major mods" should have no problem... and that lots, "are around that", yet can't provide any evidence of even 1 being around that, and then boots you from his page if you ask for it.

I ran a 1:28.47 today and was happy to get that!

I was hovering at 1:32ish for quite a while and ran consistently under 1:30 today.

Congratulations! We all start somewhere. I highly suggest attending a HPDE session or have an instructor hop in with you to see what you could be doing better or open your mind to a few other things. It helps immensely!

Impressive! Once your suspension settles, your mid corner speeds look blistering. What's your current setup?

Similar setup to yours, no aero or engine work. I try to keep it within CSCS PR to compare lap times. I wish I did 1:21.068

So basically what I’m seeing here is, there’s no one to corroborate Drew’s claim of there being many stock FR-S around 1:19-1:20?
