another sx2 vote here, I really liked mine for mostly street driving and some autox and a couple track days. They lasted foreverrrrrr.

SX2 are cheap and a very low grip tire that can take track abuse

Does anyone have a lead on a set of SX2’s? Seems like they are basically out of stock everywhere I’ve checked.

Debating just grabbing a set of k615+’s if I can find the SX2’s.

If you are interested in the Continental/Hoosier Extreme Contact Force tire (200TW Endurance racing tire) you can buy 4 of them and get the 4th tire free at Trackday tire using the sponsored driver code CRRVIP. I know it will work thru 2023, maybe not in 2024.

Fazian Babar just won Gridlife Laguna in ClubTR class... last time I saw someone ask him about the pressure drop, his response is he has 40+ track days on his motor with no issues. And that's someone with serious pace, the stickiest of the 200tw tires, and full aero.

Even 900brz, who brought public attention to the pressure drop, had dozens of track days on his motor including many AFTER he found out about the pressure drop. Motor ran fine up until a prototype part failure took it out.

The pressure drop definitely isn't ideal and no one likes it... but it doesn't seem like it turns a car into a ticking time bomb by any means.
So if it's not a ticking time bomb, why are so many trying to address it?

Laguna is a counterclockwise track, so mostly left hand turns, and doesn't have hardly any switchbacks. So I'd hope these cars could survive there.

Amazon has 215/45/17 and 245s. The 225/45/17 appears out of stock everywhere.

Money. Fear monger an issue and sell a "solution", even if the data shows these solutions do not work.

We joined in for the first time with RRR this summer.

That track doesn't put any more lateral load on the car than an autocross and there's been a few folks who've datalogged and shown that the issue doesn't happen at autocross-level g loads.

And... there's countless folks out there with dozens of track days on their 2nd gen cars with no issues at all. I'd imagine you could run forever out there and never have a failure.

Pick something sticky and send it. I'd go for Kumho v730s personally. Grip like a RT660 but they seem to like heat a bit more and last longer.
Autocross doesn't have sustained loads. Road courses have long sweeping turns that are several seconds long. So the oil my slosh over to one side for 1 a second in autocross but it will be sloshed to one side for 5 seconds (easily) on a road course.

Anyway, trying to solve an oil starvation issue with less sticky tires is like trying to solve gas tank leak by driving more conservatively/eco friendly. I mean, I guess every little bit helps, but it kinda doesn't.
