Been driving a Kia Soul as a rental replacement to the BRZ. I can't say I despise the car, just not my cup of tea.

A few good things about it is how roomy it is, taking into account that it is considered smaller than a Corolla.

It can sit four adults extremely comfortably. It is very quiet on the road, it has analog controls, and the turning radius is impressive.

Acceleration is meh, struggles a bit from 0-60 but once it goes, you can hit 85+MPH and you won't realize it.

It handles somewhat similar to a Mazda 3 AWD, it is very agile, just understeers a bit due to FWD.

The wife loves it, so we traded cars until the BRZ is all set. She likes it so much that she's considering trading the Mazda for a Kia, the only downside is the FWD.

Overall pretty impressed with the quality Hyundai and Kia have achieved. I remember being very impressed the first time I drove a 2017 Elantra, I liked that one a lot more than a Corolla or Jetta when I was on the car rental business.

The only chill will come when I leave this place. It's horribly mismanaged by our new GM. I like everything else about the job.

Had a nice weekend on the beach at the kite festival. A lot of catching up with people.
A bit like car meets, but a lot of the items on show were built by the people there.

I really should fly more. Like... At all. Used to all the time.
There are usually some amazing kites. Looks fun to me!

Friend mentions needing a brake job. I volunteer to do it for free, just ask for the parts. Friend refuses and insists on dealership. I advise against.

Friend gets the bill from dealership. $800 for parts and labor. Proceeds to complain about bringing it to dealership.

lol I am doing a brake job this evening for someone. I don't ask for anything but I usually get a bottle of scotch from this person or a baked good.

Been watching a package that required a signature being driven around a typical UPS route. Since about 9:00am this morning it has within 300 yards, and as far as 15 miles of my house before finally being delivered. The driver and I had a good laugh about it, as apparently he had priorty shipments all over his route, plus there is the whole "minimum left turns" routing.

Very amusing since I wasn't in a hurry to get it.
