Not bad? Maybe in for a 2.0L NA in 1995! Also your math is bad.

12.4 km/L is 29mpg. 12.4 L/100km is 19 mpg. You did the wrong conversion.

However Japan's 10-15 testing cycle is usually quite generous.

Sorry you are wrong. No it is 12.4 km/l or 13.0km/l. Just think what you wrote, it cant take 12.4 liters (3 gallons) to go 1km (.5 mile).

The real fuel economy comes out to about 30mpg but have to wait for the EPA to do their thing.

12.4 kilometers per liter = 29 miles per gallon.

Listen kid.

Go get a job. And use your save up as a down payment. You will happy about what you are going to do and your dad will be proud of you.

I'm starting to think Toyota might be leaking these intentionally to drum up publicity. Not that I'm complaining... this makes the wait til Nov 30 a lot easier.

Can anyone confirm that these specs are the same for the BRZ?

The weight may be slightly different but I can confirm without knowing anything that these specs are the same for the BRZ.

I just realized something. It has the same power and torque to weight ratio as 7th gen celica GTS. Its down 20 hp and by 200 lbs also. So this is really a RWD Celica GTS only more modern.

Same power to weight ratios with less weight = much more fun!
