Best tire
What would be the best tire to get for DD and maybe occasional track/drag (unlikely, but maybe) racing. Thanks

I would go for Michelin Pilot Super Sports. If you're on a budget I've heard good things about Hankook Ventus v12's.

Here's TireRack's Test Report:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=192 Dunlop Direzza DZ102 (Ultra High Performance Summer, 245/40R18 97W) What We Liked: Reasonable ride quality What We'd Improve: More overall wet and dry traction Conclusion: An Ultra High Performance Summer option that doesn't stand out from the crowd Finished last when compared with: BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport Yokohama S.drive I had them on a 2009 Honda Fit with Tein Street Basis Coilovers before. They are fine DD tires with a high UTQG rating (460 AA) but don't expect them to be much stickier than the stock tires. |

The Bridge stone Potenza S-04 Pole Position is comparable to the Michelin PSS. I ran autox on them and love them. Better grip but still let me learn. Don't last quite as long but they are cheaper to the point it balances out long term.

Thanks all, ended up going with the PSS! Pretty much everywhere I looked, all the "higher" end summer tires were all either on special order, or only had 2 in stock, silly tire shops lol. Big O in fairfield had 4 PSS there in the store for me, and an 1 Hr later I was out the door with some new tires. Cost a pretty penny, but I needed tiresASAP before I take my trip back to socal!

I had DZ102s on my FRS.
265/35s on all four corners. Good every day tire. Did fine at temperature in good weather. Really cold or wet weather and the tires weren't as grippy but still gave no issues. I wouldn't really consider the tire for track use though as it really isn't any better than its counterparts. For low cost and good grip, I'd say Federal 595 RSR. If you want something better, I'd probably go with the DZII Star Spec or Neova ADO8R or RS3 V2 in that order. Just my personal preference.
