Rear axles loose?

I just had both my rear axles replaced. There was some clunking sounds during hard acceleration. So I went under the car and notice both axles had some moment. Is this normal?

That play is fine. Most likely the clunk is the axle nuts, common issue. Did the shop replace the axle nuts when they replaced the axles?

Yeah, both had new nuts replaced. Thanks for the reply. I'll check if the nuts were torque to spec.

You say there was some clunking sounds. Are those sounds still there after the axles were replaced?

Is that movement normal? I don't know for sure, but unless they made noise, I wouldn't worry about it. And, no, I'm not going out and crawl under my car to check mine, because I don't want to get my bathrobe all dirty.
