Crawford has used 285s in the rear under stock fenders, no pull, no roll, 9.5" et38. And also 275 square on other occasions (which many here already have shown/done successfully).

Great for LSx swaps or other high hp FI FA setups

Yeah only ones that run skinny.
Much better to have more grippy tyres than a larger size with lower grip compound.

yeah... I have 255/35 NT555 in the rear on a 9.5 +35 wheel and it rubs a little... with -2.5 camber.

So the prospect of a 285 working without issue without modifying anything I would say is overly optimistic, unless as stated before - you run the skinniest 285 produced, but then who are you really fooling?

Huh? Whoever said anything about using non-grippy tires? Crawford ran sticky and wide Nittos. And 285s come in RS3, DII, RE11 and AD08r; which I would pick.

your offset is too aggressive...with a +42/+45 offset a 285 will be doable for sure. just because you rub, doesn't mean other will. i don't rub and i have -1.4 camber AND i'm running RE-11's...

Right, with a higher offset it would be fine. I was referring to a 275/35 on a 9.5 +38.

Finally found time to take some decent photos of the wheels after they were powdercoated, and I adjusted the ride height to a more functional level. No editing done, just wanted to slap some pictures up here.

So I just read through every post on this thread and it seems @Pete156 and @Scaldy are the only ones running non-subaru mudflaps.

Does anyone have pics of a 17" meaty tire setup with preferably rallyarmor mudflaps?

My build idea is 17x9 et35 RPF1's with 245/40/17 MPSS's with my rallyarmor mudflaps and ~1 - 1.5" drop.

Edit: not gonna put much camber on the wheels at all. I wanna keep it sensible for autocross

I think the bulging tires and wheel poke coupled with the mudflaps will make the brz look pretty mean.

Pics greatly appreciated! Thanks
