Taking off the A/T OEM Shift knob ?

I scored a TRD shift knob for my A/T FR-S. Only problem is I can't get the stock shift knob off to save my life. Anyone replace their A/T shift knob yet ?
Any info appreciated.

I'm having the same issue. How many times did u have to turn the knob to the left? I keep
Turning the knob but it doesn't come off. Do u have to pull up after a certain amount of turns. Mine doesn't come off. I don't wanna break it.

That sounds about right, all you've got to do is twist it off. The thing is that the shift knob has a really long thread, so just keep on twisting and it'll come off by itself
