Only my BRZ neighbor would complain on the local thread here that nobody waves back at him.

I don't wave at him either even tho I live like a couple of houses down the same side of the street.

Sometimes people just want to be left alone.
- 4C owner that gets tailed and paced by people all the time.

It's the main reason the car is for sale.

I have one down the street from me that likes to rev his car as he drives by my house. I always ignore him.

But it happens enough to be annoying.
Usually the case for me, but today I had a pleasant exchange with what I think was the driver of a GT350.

I was in the lane on the street to enter the highway on-ramp and there was traffic ahead of me, but I saw him with his signal on to get into my lane, so I slowed down for him (which nobody does around here), he switched lanes, and then he opened his window and waved his hand outside in thanks (I assume) till I gave the thumbs up through my windshield.

Run-on sentence aside, it was a nice exchange and I was definitely surprised. American muscle car owners around here are generally show-boaty idiots.

Yep. Same for me in my Lotus. I will just be minding my own business obeying the laws, and people will do the stupidest crazy shit around me.

A few days ago my wife and I were just rolling down the street. A guy in a Camaro sees us and hits it doing the most dangerous stuff crossing 3 lanes several times thru traffic to speed away. I look at my wife and say, "you know that was all for us. He had to show us his Camaro could go."

Meh, I get way more waves and thumbs-up than negative gestures.

Otherwise, I've stopped going to meets and the like. Too much ego and immaturity from all ages. I just stick to a small group of friends and driving group now.
This is also me.

Any time anyone does pulls next to me while driving or tries to bait me into racing I give them the thumbs down, regardless of what they are driving. Maybe they thought that's what you were doing? Or maybe they are just a douche, idk.

When I was a small kid riding in the back of my dad's Triumph TR-3B I would watch as all the sports car drivers of all makes and models would wave at each other.

Things change.

Still get waves when riding motorcycles, but not as much as it used to be.
