Forgot to share this with the JDL guys.

My car with JDL UEL put down 205whp NA on a Mustang dyno last week.

Very pleased with the torque curve!

Mustang Dyno tune at EFI Logics. CT

Got 184whp and 151ft-lb at a raining day (lower dyno number).

What does the torque curve look? Got a graph?

Hey, chiming in with a few seemingly noob-like questions. I have been running a TRD intake, TRD catback and FT86SF Catted UEL header for the past year (stock FP/OP). Performance has been great, zero complaints.

However, as I look to hold onto this car for another 2-5 years, I am worried about the quality of the product I install on my car and reliability long term. FT86SF makes a great product for the price no doubt, but the welding does not seem top notch nor the overall layout necessarily (I am not an automotive engineer). Furthermore, I get serious drone on this setup when cruising at 75mph (3200 rpm) and it is LOUD. I was 23 a few years ago but as I get older the racerboy image is fading.

Question is, what can I switch up to keep the performance, increase the quality of my car build and maybe lessen the dB volume a bit?

My original thought was perhaps the JDL Catted EL swapped in place of the FT86SF UEL. The TRD exhaust could also be the drone generator though. Decisions, decisions.

What FP / OP are you using? Personally im not a big fan of the EL header... its raspy and i didnt like where the gains were on it vs the UEL.

I had been daily driving a setup with stock OP/FP for a bit with an UEL header and there was drone coming from the passenger side foot well. Right where the OEM resonator was. Swapping it out for a catted FP + OP moved the sound behind me and it was a lot more comfortable (even though it was a bit louder). This could be your case... The front resonator is tuned for a specific frequency and you have altered where your drone is with your header. I however haven't ridden in a car with a TRD exhaust and a header though. Not many people in my area have the TRD exhaust. =(

JDL does have a catted FP with an extra passthrough resonator that might be worth trying but there is no guarantee that it would fix the issue.

Anyone use a JDL UEL header with Vortech kit?

http://jdlautodesign.net/shop/ft86-u...length-header/

I am wondering whether it will fit if I got the $4000+ V3 base kit and if I upgrade it in the future. ( Cuz I saw that JDL EL will not fit the V2 upgrade).

@Jesse@JDLAutodesign do you know the answer? How about Jackson Racing SC kit? Do you know any SC kit that has confirmed to fit the JDL UEL header. Thank you!

It will fit.
The EL is a lot different in design and comes up the front by the fans a bit, which is why it may not fit.
