For a bunch of us it would be stupid to move on since we invested a lot of time in waiting for this car (years not months)

Hey Guys,

I just read the OP and wanted to throw my hat into the ring. I normally check out these forums everyday but rarely feel like posting.

I completely understand the frustration with waiting for more info. I too am waiting for the final price to be released for the Scion. But I wonder, how long have you been waiting?

To put things in perspective, I've been trying to replace my current car since the start of 2011. I decided that I would save up some cash and finally buy a really good new car. I started March of 2011 and I'm still saving my cash now. Lucky for me, the FR-S was announced while I was saving up my cash and now I plan on purchasing the FR-S as my new car.

So for me, it's been a very very long time coming and I also am having a hard time waiting. But I find patience in knowing that when I do finally get to drive the FR-S, I'm sure all the waiting will be worth it.

Try not to get frustrated. I'm sure this car will be worth it. I'm definatly not going to go down to the dealership and ask for my deposit back considering we're so close to the actual release date/month. I've been waiting 11+ months for a new car and so I can wait a little longer.

Not sure if my Audi will hold up though.

Before I start- there is a 99.9% chance I will buy this car.

However, I have no idea why people are justifying Toyota/Subaru's withholding of the price tag for this? It's been priced in other countries, and this late in the game both manufacturers SHOULD know what their costs are.

At this point, honestly, I think they're letting reviewers review it - knowing they've created an awesome car - and with all the rave reviews they will price it accordingly. If I was in a leadership position at either of these companies that would be my move.

And there's nothing wrong with that. But there's no reason to think these auto manufacturers are doing it for your benefit, not this late in the game.

I'd be willing to bet my next doughnut that its nothing to do with "with holding pricing information" and everything to do with marketing.

Either:
A) They're still trying to gauge intrest in the car and price it accordingly based on intrest.

or

B) They're working on the marketing material of the car and they're not ready to release any of it yet. Anyone remember the video of Ken Gushi almost hitting the deer?

I'm sure we're close to getting this info but Toyota/Subaru are just not ready to announce everything yet. The first commercial was only filmed last week.

Also, I wonder why you guys feel like "they should tell us everything because X car has all of its info out". How are these 2 things related?

I think everyone needs to chill out and wait.

Thats nothing really when you consider some of us wanted the car before there was a concept and a lot of us wanted the car after the concept (2009)

waiting couple months means nothing to me after waiting a couple years

I'm going to be waiting either way. But if there is a chance I can get the Subaru version for the same price as the Scion, I'll choose the Subaru.

Nothing special, just the 6MT unit out of the Legacy which is a simply a 5MT case with an extra gear crammed in. It's not the STI 6MT by any stretch.

Feel free to give up. Less competition for me, and I'm sure you'll want it again once you see me driving around in one
