Well, it just takes practice ....... hint - still let the clutch out a little on the slow side to minimize the "jolt".

Wonderful! Glad we could help. My opinion on fluids is frowned upon here. I steer clear of Motul because it is a combination GL-4/5. GL-5 load rating requires using some sort of chemically bonding friction modifier. It is designed to be used only in gearboxes that do not contain yellow metals. When traditional GL-5 chemically bonds with bronze, it causes surface embrittlement which then accelerates wear.

Now, here's my qualifying statement. I agree with the suspicion that Motul is able to achieve compatibility with typical synchronized transmissions through an additive that prevents reaction with the softer metals.

Even if I am wrong, it costs me nothing to use a decent straight GL-4 MT fluid. I prefer Redline MT-90 for my trans and a proper "limited-slip" GL-5 for the diff.

I also maintain that, for a non-tracked/flogged car, there's no reason to change out the stock fluid for the life of the car.

I changed my fluid because I beat the piss out of it from time to time. I'm pretty sure it was unnecessary and the stock fluid does a good job of keeping it quiet.

Slightly OT but I didn't think this was needed for a Torsen LSD since it does not use clutches but gears. My understanding is that the limited slip additive is only needed for clutches, and with a Torsen you can use regular gear oil without the additive. I don't think the additive hurts though...

Wow, that sounds like a really good point. *runs off to study*

Torsen Type-1 differentials require lubricant with a GL-5 rating. Type-2 and T-2R models can operate in a wide range of fluids but share lube with other components that may have specific needs. Consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual or with the manufacturer of the ring & pinion set (if not OEM) for their recommendation.
We have the Type-2. Manual specifies Diff Gear Oil LX or GL-5 standard.

So I had to drive my car tonight, and I followed Sly's advice to let the clutch move into and out of gears on its own by giving it a little push, man, my gear shifts actually felt so smooth, I did not have to use alot of energy to shift, I was really excited and happy

My car is a daily drive car, and I drive at 75 or 80 on the high every day to get to work. So I don't think I need to change the transmission fluid that often right?

I don't think I need to do these. Could you give me the reasons for doing these?

You don't have to change it ever.

Do I need to use friction modifier with Torsen?

Yes and no. Although the differential does not use a clutch pack design, modifier additive is still sometimes used in OEM applications. In such cases, we suggest referring to the OEM recommendation.
https://torsen.com/faq/
It would seem that the additive is not needed but if the manufacturer recommends it, then use it. I think this is mainly for liability reasons. If the manufacturer recommends friction modifier, then their warranty covers damages caused by using such oil. However, Torsen acknowledges that using LSD oil is not necessary. I think these differentials can use almost any oil. The transmission, on the other hand, needs GL3 or GL4 to not cause damage to the brass bushings. Both GL3 and GL4 are low in sulphur.
