Angry Who does this?

OK, Rant time.

I parked my car in a (secure - normally) complex (at my home) on Saturday after doing the shopping. I come out on Sunday afternoon, only to find a big dent on my roof.
At first I thought "FECK! Damn kids playing ball again.", but then I took it to the panel beaters and had a closer look at it this morning:
a) It's not a ball that makes marks like that. It's a fist.
b) It's right on the edge to the lower bit of the roof (driver's side), and as such, the panel beaters aren't sure they can fix it. I am now waiting for two quotes from them: 1 for trying to fix it, 1 for a new roof panel.

My question is: What lowlife, f***wit scumbag does stuff like that? I am a quiet, non-aggressive guy that gets along with his neighbours? Why would anyone PUNCH my car? That's like punching someone's children because the mother has an annoying voice.

OG! I am SO angry right now.
/rant.

Still waiting for the quotes (panel beaters might take some time, looking for a price on a new roof panel, after all), but processing insurance paperwork so long.

Does anyone know of any dashcam(like) solutions that would help ID scumbags-who-get-some-alone-time-with-me in such scenarios?

There are several such dashcams available but you'd need them on all four corners of the car. Very unfortunate!

How far is your house from your parking spot. You can put up a "fake" visible camera on your house, pointed to your car. Not going to catch anyone, but it might be a deterrent.

BTW, try shopping around on panel beaters that can repair it. The 86 panels appear to be very thin, so someone with the right skill level should be able to repair it.

This is the most reputable panel beater in town. They didn't say they CAN'T repair it, they just said that given the location of it, they feel it's quite likely to warp.

My house is ~30m from the parking around the corner, so that's not gonna do any good.

What is going to happen though is twofold:
1) I am going to write a salty email to body corporate to up security or provide us with a way to hold people accountable. My previous car has scratch marks from a soccer ball, but it was a bunch of kids, all of whom obviously weren't the culprits... and yes, I DI speak to their parents at the time (well more than a year ago).
2) If Body Corporate decides to ignore me, I WILL put up my own security cams (they will hate it). I reckon dash cams are less effective, so WiFi motion sensing cams would be a better bet. My two cars are parked next to each other, so I will be able to cover both with two cameras.

It's infuriating and saddening to me that someone would stoop to that level. Jealousy clearly turns people into retards.

LOL@Pic.

I will take pics this weekend, when the car is clean again. It's just embarrassingly dirty right now, thanks to rain for 4 weeks and leaves and such.

Yeah... still waiting for the quote. Gonna go follow up this afternoon. My reckoning is that they're struggling to get the pricing of the roof panel out of Toyota NAM (who are rubbish at getting back to people in my personal experience).

And yes - that's some jealous asshole that I wish I could have some alone time with...

So - the quote is in:
New roof panel and installation/spray/strip/reassemble will cost 20K
The parts themselves are quite cheap: 4K for the roof panel.
But it's a labour intensive job.

Who does this?

Carbon fiber roof panel. If they're going through the labour, may as well upgrade.
@h4nh had his done and it's beautiful. Take a look at his build thread.

Holy shit. $20,000 for a roof dent? It's like the damn thing got totaled.
