I'm running 215/40 square with 17x9 rears. On stock power/bolt ons its a good setup and you can run a more aggressive offset without compromising your camber setup.

6k for the kit,
1200 for fueling MAP sensor and ECUTEK stuff
800 or so for proper gauges and mounting
Oil cooler cost (1000 for Ptuning)
$300 for radiator
$500 clutch/flywheel
1200(?) for axles
AoS (Catch can) $200 or so
XXX for tuning

It really does start to add up quickly. I do already have some of these items, but still...Ptuning is an amazing company with great service...but that $$$ hurts.
Tell me about it..

My dad asked me the other day "How much do you figure you have into that car" after he saw the superspeeders rob video regarding his buddy pouring 30k into his BRZ in stupid mods.

Not including the cost of the car, im probably 20k deep into my car ATM.. It's honestly sickening to think about.

Lol. Between 2 240s, a WRX, and the FRS, I was well over 50k in mods. Looked at my bank account and there was nowhere close to 50k in there. That was kind of a big thing to me, because you don't exactly make money and get a lot of money back when you modify cars.

Hence why I bought the STI. Almost 2 years in and between parts and services and stuff, I'm only in like $2,000. Add wheels/tires and exhaust in this summer, and the total cost will be like $5,500 and the car is basically done at that point. Modifying cars is fun but F*CK it's such a poor investment

Word. Im running 215 45 on 17x9.5 +20 square and running stock arms it just nuzzled up in the fender, no rolling or anything. Perfect.
Fronts need camber but eh, no big deal.

I will need alignment so i will try as close to zero toe in rear with stock arms.
I do have pbm rear lowers but adjusted to stock length.
When i get it aligned i will post specs. I doubt i can get rear camber to anything less than 2 degrees though. Not without fender work.

Update since the megan inner tie rod install:

went to a drift event on Saturday and I have to say i could feel the difference from the stock ties, it gave me just enough more angle to power through corners on stock power, i only had a couple spins but all were due to hitting rev limit, gripping up and snapping back, none were from lack of angle. the only negative i found was when i clutch kicked at full lock i could feel the front rack kind of torquing forward, not sure if this was a result of the tie rods, lack of front sway, coils, or all of these put together. my general consensus is for $80, you really have no reason not to get these. some people may feel different about this, but for me it felt great, and i would easily do it again.

after driving with it i dont think il need any more angle on stock power, only real benefit i could see from an angle kit at this point is on borderline backwards entries, and small hairpins where i can keep them spinning, anything outside of that would just be correcting if i overcooked it. though those with pbm kit or drift knuckles might disagree,as ive only been sliding this car a couple months.

Angle AND hydro for a daily? Only way this can get better is chocolate covered bacon. Or... drift events in san diego would be great too.

I have nothing against the guy but it just seemed like he built the car with no clear purpose. A bunch of cash thrown at something ya know?

I was 40k into the tC, second built motor popped, thats when I got sick of it haha.

I'm running a Continental DW 255/40 on a 17×9 +20 in the rear with -.8 camber and had to roll the fenders to stop rubbing but that's it. Before I had Federal 595s 235/40 on 17x9 +20 and didn't rub at all. This is with being lowered right at an inch.

Lots of people seem to mod cars like that. No real idea on what direction to go, just modding for the sake of modding.

Gotta have that forum build list as long as possible for max interweb points.

Im debating between the federal 595 RS-R and 595 RS-RR for the front, is the RR worth the extra ~$50 a tire, and would it be more beneficial to go with 225 in the front on stock wheels or stick with the 215? ive heard federals run a tad on the larger size, i don't really want a muffin top of a wheel if i go with the 225

Stick with 215. They run large and you're already tight on front clearance with these cars (especially with added angle).

Regarding the difference between the R and RRs... Idk. Just get whichever. I doubt it'll make that much of a difference. I'd honestly just get the Rs myself.

Yeah no kidding..

I run a 18x9.5 +35 up front. I just got my Drift knuckles setup installed and have to run a 30MM spacer for now to get the clearance I need.. even then the tires slightly rub the fender liners when turning front and back.. Looks like ill be ripping those bad boys out

When I have the cash I guess I'll need to move to a more reasonable sized wheel setup. I just hate to switch my wheels. I'm not a scene points whore but I 2 years later am still in love with how bad ass my 3DSM's look especially when drifting.

Yeah...

Honestly, 17s are just plain better for these cars, especially for drifting applications
